Sunni and the odd Islamic sects

  • Q99: What does the word "Sunnah" mean ?
A: "Sunnah" means "the way", the main way, the straight way, as opposed to السبل "narrow bypaths". We have used the word before to mean every thing related to prophet Muhammad [PBUH]; his deeds, his sayings, his teachings, ...etc. As a concept it means the very way of prophet Muhammad[PBUH].
  • Q100: Who are the people of Sunnah (Sunni people) and why are they called so ?
A: We have many names each emphasize on one aspect of our beliefs. We are called people of Sunnah أهل السنة or Sunni because we are the main stream Islam, we are the standard Islam, as opposed to odd bypaths. Also it indicate that we follow the exact teachings of prophet Muhammad [PBUH] as narrated and understood by his companions. We analyze the resources with neutral procedures, no pre-assumptions, we are not selective, we maintain and show all resources, that support our views and that support others', and we'll reject our own traditions, the traditions of our fathers and our own opinions, we are ready to smash all such traditions into the wall when they contradict an authentic Hadith. { وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ قَالُوا حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آَبَاءَنَا أَوَلَوْ كَانَ آَبَاؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئاً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ * يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعاً فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ } meaning { When it is said to them [idolaters]: 'Come to that which Allah has sent down, and to the Messenger, ' they reply: 'Sufficient for us is what we have found our fathers upon, ' even though their fathers knew nothing and were not guided. * Believers, look after your own self, he who goes astray cannot harm you if you are guided. You shall all return to Allah, and He will inform you of what you have done. } (V5:104-105) If one want guidance he should follow messengers of Allah { قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ مَا حُمِّلْتُمْ وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ } meaning { Say: 'Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. If you turn away, upon him only rests what is laid upon him, and upon you rests what is laid on you. If you obey him, you shall be guided. It is only for the Messenger to deliver a clear message. ' } (V24:54). Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] defines the modular Muslim character, { لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآَخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيراً } meaning { In the Messenger of Allah you have a fine example for he who hopes for Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah abundantly. } (V33:21) We are commanded to follow his teachings, in so many verse (V4:59, V5:92, V64:12, V8:46, V58:13, and V8:1 and much more) here is another verse { وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ } meaning { Obey Allah and the Messenger in order to be subjected to mercy. } (V3:132). Those who follow different ways to Islam their deeds are nullified { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوا أَعْمَالَكُمْ } meaning { Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger and never let your labors go in vain! [do not nullify your deeds] } (V43:33). How clear! but some people don't want to know, they love being lost.

We maintain the exact very Islam, we don't innovate in Islam (it's permissible to innovate a better car, a way to land on Mars but not a different way to worship Allah), the only valid way is the way of Allah, the very way taught by his messenger. That's why we keep saying we are the followers of the way of Allah, we are not impostor innovators "متبعون غير مبتدعين". No one is allowed to claim that he invented a better way to worship Allah, because Islam is perfect, and the message was completed by sending the last messenger (Muhammad [PBUH]). That's why we are called Salafi (pure and preserving, others may call us "fundamentalists", "radical", "extremist", "recessive", ..etc. but we don't care because we are "as fundamentalists as mathematicians", "as radical as freedom", "we are extremely moderate", "we return to neutral verifiable truth",..etc.). Yet, some Sunnies don't refer to themselves using the word "Salafi" because media hypes and misconceptions that it only refers to Hanbali or Saudi or Wahabi Sunnies, please be informed that all Sunni scholars (including the parties that do not refer to themselves as Salafi) are proud of being Salafi and do not hesitate to state that in their books, even if they don't address that in the media. Every Sunni is Salafi and every Salafi is Sunni. We are so permissive that we are also called أهل السنة والجماعة, people of Sunnah and Unity. We are called "The Unity" because we form the wide permissive standard of Islam, we don't claim having unarguable truth, we don't deny others the right to oppose us, or to have different opinions. Al-Shafi'i said "رأينا صواب يحتمل الخطأ وخلاف رأينا خطأ يحتمل الصواب" meaning "We are right, but we might be mistaken. Other opinions are wrong but they might be correct". When two scholars have different understandings or opinions regarding an issue then each one don't reject the other nor combat with him, rather than remind him with wisdom and knowledge. Sunni scholars are known by criticizing themselves before others critic them. We are also called the unity as opposed to the outlaws الخوارج, we don't force our opinions, we are not rebels. { وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعاً وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنْتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُمْ بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَاناً وَكُنْتُمْ عَلَى شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ فَأَنْقَذَكُمْ مِنْهَا كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آَيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ } meaning { And hold fast to the Bond of Allah, together, and do not scatter. Remember the Favor of Allah bestowed upon you when you were enemies, and how He united your hearts, so that by His Favor you became brothers. And how He saved you from the Pit of Fire when you were on the brink of it. And so Allah makes plain to you His verses, in order that you will be guided. } (V3:103) We claim to be the saved unity, as mentioned in the sound Hadiths That there will be 73 fractions, only one will be in Paradise ... companions asked "who are they [the saved one party] ?, he said "they are the unity". (meaning that the 72 fractions are odd and extreme) and their description in the other Hadith "They will be on [the creed] that I am and my companions on" (although it's authentic, it's not very sound, it's not included in the first two books, it's found Sunan Abu Dawood سنن أبو داود, Sunan Al-termithi سنن الترمذي, and Sunan ibn Majah سنن ابن ماجة and The Musnad of Imam Ahmad, and it's included in the السلسلة الصحيحة by Al-Albani) The other combating 72 sects and bypaths (called in Quran "Shiites") are recognized by not following prophet Muhammad[PBUH], they have nothing to do with him. { إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعاً لَسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ } meaning { You have nothing to do with those who have made divisions in their religion and become sects [Shiites]. Their affair is with Allah and He will inform them of what they have done. } (V5:159) and they are attributed to be combating, as opposed to the unity (refer to V6:65 and V30:32) To be fair, the word "Shiites" is a generic word that mean adherents, doctrines or sects, that need not be the sects called Shiites (ie. the people of rejection), but the description matches them, that's why some scholars and historians says that all of the unsaved 72 odd sects are Shiites.

  • Q101: You Sunni do innovate, you call it Ejtihad ?
A: Ejtihad (which mean Studious scaling) applies only to new things that were not available before, for example if one have treasured some excess US. dollars for a lunar year, what is the rate of Zakat and what is the lower bound in dollars that make it obligatory to give away Zakat for charity. Such question is answered by Ejtihad, because at the time of prophet Muhammad [PBUH] there were no dollars. Scholars answers such questions by scaling (induction), in this case the rate and bound is the equivalent value of the rate and bound of gold converted to dollars, simply because all types of banknote money are covered by gold or by another banknote that is covered by gold. This is not a workaround guile because we Sunni have a principle "لا اجتهاد مع النص" meaning "No Ejtihad [arguments or opinions] with verbatim resources".
  • Q102: If Islam is perfect then why would someone innovate things in Islam ?
A: Odd sects innovate new things and try to inject them into Islam, either because they don't like the original way of prophet Muhammad[PBUH], because they are hypocrites (they are disbelievers but just showing Islam, refer to 2:8-12) { فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَرَجاً مِمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً } meaning { But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you (Muhammad) the judge regarding the disagreement between them, then, they will not find in themselves any discomfort concerning your verdict, and will surrender to you in full submission. } (V4:65) or because they want to form a sort of hypocrisy and follow their desires, just for showing to get worldly rewards from people, to get some political power, ..etc. For example, the following sound Hadith (found on Sahih Muslim) describe such hypocrisy. It warned us from a kind of people called impecunious people (in the measure of good deeds) despite there so many apparent worshiping, The messenger of Allah [PBUH] said: "Do you know what is the impecunious person ?" they said "it's who is penniless and have no goods" he said "The impecunious person in the criteria of my Ummah [people/nation], is who will come in the day of Judgment, with Salat [prayer] and fasting and Zakat [giving charity] and [on the other hand] he had insulted this and calumniating that, consuming the money of this [stealing/fraud] and shedding the blood of that (killing that) harming this or that, then this and that would take from the rewards of his good deeds and if it were not sufficient to pay them back, then their bad deeds will be thrown on him then he will be thrown to fire" And in the sound Hadith (found on Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) that describe the outlaws الخوارج, it mention that one might despise his own Salat (prayer) and his fasting compared with such people, and yet despite all that worshiping they are criminals and disbelievers.
  • Q103: Are you trying to say that Allah would punish those who worship him in a different way ?
A: simply, Yes! they have disobeyed Allah by worshiping him in a way that is different than the way they are commanded to practice.
  • Q104: Isn't Quran sufficient ? Why do we need Sunnah ?
A: Take the answer from Quran. { إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَ اللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤْمِنُ بِبَعْضٍ وَنَكْفُرُ بِبَعْضٍ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذُوا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ سَبِيلاً * أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ حَقّاً وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَاباً مُهِيناً } meaning { Those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers, and desire to divide between Allah and His Messengers, and say, 'We believe in some (prophets), and disbelieve in some of them (such as Prophet Muhammad), ' desiring to take between this (and that) a way (between belief and disbelief) * those in truth are the unbelievers, and We have prepared for the unbelievers a humiliating punishment. } (V4:150-151) Sunnah is the way to understand Quran, it's the teachings of Muhammad who { وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى * إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى } meaning { nor does he [Muhammad] speak out of desire. Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, } (V53:3-4) Sunnah of Muhammad who taught us that he is commanded in Quran to say {... [say O Muhammad] ... I follow nothing, except what is sent down to me. Indeed, if I should rebel against my Lord I fear the punishment of a Great Day } (V10:15) so we Muslims, Sunni, followers, we are commanded in that verse to say "I [as a Muslim] follow nothing, except what is sent down to me [through prophet Muhammad] ...".
  • Q105: Who are the major odd sects ?
A: All the odd sects in the entire Islamic history had marginal percentage in the Islamic Ummah, and they only appear in far places, where some fresh Muslims were projecting there previous beliefs on Islam. For any neutral researcher, they don't even deserve to be mentioned unless in too specific documents. They live as closed groups or with the help of disbelievers, or by misleading fresh Muslims ..etc. and not allowing people to learn Arabic language, or even not allowing them to think! I'm going to introduce the major odd sects so that a fresh Muslim would know their guiles and falsifications.
    • The outlaws الخوارج, the rebels, the footpads. (and the exact opposite of them المرجئة)
    • Al-Rawafid الروافض, People of rejection أهل الرفض, Nullifiers, aka. Shiites الشيعة (mainly Imamism Shiites), and the exact opposite of them Al-Nawasib.
    • Metaphysical philosophers or those who are influenced by them, like People of materialistic analogy المشبهة, people of attribute denial منكري الصفات, the Fatalists الجبرية (aka. Jahamia الجهمية named after its founder) and The isolators المعتزلة.
    • Sufism ways, (Abstinence; self-denial by depriving one's self of certain kinds of permissible things)
And yet many of followers of those Metaphysical philosophers and Sufism sects did not cross the boundary out the Sunni unity.
  • Q106: Who are the outlaws sect ?
A: The article of their faith is that "a sin is disbelief". They are rebels on all sides, they were footpads, they fight Muslims, they even fight themselves! as they deny the need for a leader, they deny the necessity for having judges (regular human judges), they claim that one either deserve leadership or get it but not both! They consider any Muslim to be disbeliever unless he is a rebel like them! They started by claiming support for Ali (one of the best companions ever, as clearly indicated by Sunnah) against Mu'awiah (a companion, but not on the rank of first best thousand companion). Ali did not accept their support and because Ali wasn't a rebel like them, they turned over him and claimed that Ali have disbelieved! just because he accepted judgment of people rather than Judgment of Allah (according to their distorted understanding). Prophet Muhammad warned us from them in many sound Hadiths, he had described them, their beliefs and the appearance of their leader, and when they would come and who will fight them first. And it happened exactly as mentioned in Sunnah. The Hadiths mentioned that they will appear in a time Muslims were be divided into two parties and the first party to fight them would be the more righteous party (and this was what happened, it was Ali who fought them first).

The opposite extreme wing of this extreme wing is another odd sect called Al-Murjia'a. They claim that belief means to know that Allah exists, it's something in the heart, their article of faith is "with faith no sin counts!" to them it's sufficient to have good intentions, without good deeds, and with so many sins (something like Machiavellians).

  • Q107: How Sunni are different from the outlaws and Murji'a ?
A: To us, Imaan (belief or faith) is a gradual scale, that increases with good deeds and decreases with sins, we have no power to judge Imaan of Muslims, nor grant hellfire to this and that ...etc. A sinner Muslim would be punished in hellfire for his sins, with perfect justice, until he is completely purified from his sins, then he enter Paradise. We Sunni are not outlaws, because we are not like them, we don't use force on peaceful people, Ahmad ibn Hanbal said (in his book the foundations of Sunnah) "Fighting the Imam [governor] is not permissible, nor rebelling, who did so is an innovator, not following the Sunnah, this is not the way. Fighting thieves, robbers and outlaws is only permissible when they attack one for his life or his money [possessions] only in that case one may defend himself and his money whatever way could, but if they flee or left him alone then it's not permissible for him to hunt them down, nor trace them, unless one is appointed by the Imam [governor], it's just only permissible to defend oneself in such situation and with intention not to kill anyone, ... and if the he [the outlaw] is injured or caught then one is not allowed to kill him or punish him, he should deliver him to the governors where they get judgment ..." reading this one might think that Ahmad ibn Hanbal is a representative of governors! recall that Ahmad was imprisoned and tortured daily before the public for two years by governors, and he was prepared to be executed but the governor died just before that! That's the way to oppose governors by reasoning and wisdom not by force. AFAIK, both the outlaws and Murji'a have vanished and no longer have any apparent influence on any Islamic groups. (in Oman their is a sect called Ibadhi that is claimed to be related to the outlaws, but of course, I don't think they still have such extreme beliefs but maybe they share outlaws with some beliefs and interpretations)
  • Q108: Who are the Shiites, and why are they called people of rejection ?
A: They call themselves Shi'a (Shiites) which mean the Adherents, they also call themselves the sect of Ahlualbait أتباع أهل البيت or مذهب أهل البيت (Adherents to the family of prophet Muhammad, namely his daughter Fatima and her husband Ali, Ali the son of Abu Talib the tenderhearted uncle of prophet Muhammad). Which mean the Adherents of Ali, those who like Ali, those who support Ali, those who take revenge for the sake of Ali ...etc. But it have nothing to do with Ali as Ali have been dead for centuries. And we Sunni do love Ali, and consider him the 4th best companion ever, and the best judge and ...etc.

They are called people of rejections, for two reasons, one is the so many Hadiths (yet they are not very sound Hadiths) that warn us from them "there will be a people called people of rejection, as they reject Islam ..." and the sign of them as indicated by the Hadiths "they calumniate you with what you did not do and they calumniate the Salaf [first Muslims]" and "such impostors claim loving Ahlu-Albait [prophet family like Ali] but they are not, the sign of which that they Insult AbuBakir and Omar [the best two companions of the prophet]". They reject Islam by calumniating the companions of the prophet Muhammad [PBUH] with many conspiracy theorems, because companions are the only reliable way to deliver Islam to us, and replace companions with theocratic beliefs and mythologies. And the other reason that they used to say we are the adherents of that Imam, then this very Imam came out and disclaim all what they claimed on his name, then they reject him and kill him! For example, the Zaidi Shiites called the Shiites of Kufa (Imami Shiites) people of rejection because the later party killed Zaid ibn AlHussain ibn Ali (the grandson of Ali, the Imam of Zaidi Shiites) after he had publicly disclaim all what they claimed on his name!

Shiites are followers of a secret teachings, delivered to them through local theocratic leaders, such teachings is surrounded by guiles of Tuqia (the right to beguile, lie and to calumniate others in order to protect religion). There are so many completely different kinds of Shiites, actually combating fractions of Shiites, to the extent that each claiming that the other Shiites are disbelievers! It's very difficult to tell what are their beliefs because behind the love Ali, there are so many hidden secret beliefs, For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to focus on the beliefs of the most common Shiites nowadays, the Imami Shiites (Imamism, aka. Twelve-ism).

They have theocratic hypocrisy beliefs زندقة, According to their beliefs, the most important thing in religion is to know the Imam (leader), as (according to their beliefs) people need a governor/ruler directly appointed by Allah (not to be chosen by people, people don't have the right nor responsibility to choose their leader), and this inspired Imam (they mean it literary) is given the secret knowledge (as if there is such thing), and is given supernatural miracles, ...etc. The Imam should be Infallible and Impeccable, ...etc. They believe that there will be 12 consecutive Imams, Ali was their first, then his descendants. But Shiites don't have a way to know which, so after the death of each Imam they were divided into many combating branches. The first Shiites desired to believe that this appointed Imam, is simply the eldest son, but they run into a contradiction because Al-Hassan الحسن (the eldest son of Ali), abdicated leadership to Mu'awiah (the Ummaiads) to unite Muslims and establish peace, and because they believe that Imam is appointed from Allah and Al-Hassan have no right to do that (make Mu`awiah a Calif instead of himself) so they were forced to change their mind to Al-Hussien (the other son), but they waited till the death of Mu'awiah, then they wrote litters to Al-Hussien and promised him with loyalty and support, Al-Hussien sent his cousin to them, they rejected him and asked for Al-Hussien personally. Many companions advised Al-Hussien not to go, and warned him from their guiles, but he went to them in Iraq, where they have let him down, when he knew that they are not serious, he wanted to go back, they did not allowed him to go back nor to abdicate leadership nor to exile himself, because they believe Imam is appointed from Allah, he had no right to withdraw or abdicate Imamah! They have waived him, and pushed him to appear as an isolated rebel before the army of the new Calif, where he was killed by the wrong-doing party in Karbala, and most of his companions who were with him were also killed, they were his relatives who came with him from Medina (not Shiites). Shiites refer to it as "The victory of Blood on Sword" and till today Shiites celebrate the annual remembrance of this event in a huge pagan rituals where they punish themselves for letting him down and promise to take revenge!

Shiites could not find a firm rule to know their Imam, as either he disclaim them publicly, or he was too young to be Imam, or he have no children so there is no next Imam! ..etc. They changed their belief to be that the Imam is appointed just before the death of the previous Imam, where Angel Gabriel is sent down to appoint the next Imam. Some Shiites considered the next Imam to be Muhammad ibn AlHanafia (the other son of Ali and the half brother of Al-Hassan and Al-Hussien) to be their Imam because he was a very sharp scholar and have great respect and acceptance among people (but Muhammad ibn Al-Hanafia disclaimed publicly all what they claimed on him). But the Imami and Zaidi Shiites don't consider him anyway, they considered their fourth Imam to be Ali the son of Al-Hussien (one of the great Sunni scholars, as he was one of the followers التابعون who lived in Medina and he had nothing to do with Shiites rebels and avengers, he was a close friend of some Ummiad rulers like Marwan and his son Abdul-Malik!!!), After Ali the son of Al-Hussien, came his son Zaid for the Zaidi (and after that there were no consensus among Zaidi), and for the Imami comes his other son Muhammad Al-Baqir (a well-known Sunni scholar! his narrations are included in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) then his son Ja'far Assadiq (a great Sunni Scholar like his father, to the extent that Imam Malik [on of the 4 major Sunni scholars] was his direct student!) ...etc. The eleventh Imam of the Imami Shiites died without having a son (he did not married nor he had a maid-slave). They believe that their last twelfth Imam (after whom the world would end!) the son of the eleventh Imam was born in year 255 Hijri from a secret made-slave he had bought as he free her and married her (secretly), she was the grand daughter of Caesar the Roman emperor (and slave in the same time), and she was a descender of one of apostles of Jesus [PBUH]! (other Shiites have different myths anyway) then he was disappeared in year 260 Hijri for 69 years, then he was reborn or reappear in 329 Hijri after the death of his last claimed ambassador/messenger (to assign a different one maybe) then he directly disappeared again and he is still hiding or hidden till today, and he is still alive till today (1428 Hijri, ie. he is 1173 years old by know) and he is the only legitimate leader of Muslims, and he is the only mean needed to know Islam and all Muslims should follow him! (according to their distorted irrational beliefs of course). Shiites consider the belief in Imamah to be the article of faith (not the testimony that "there is no true god but Allah") because they have no real evidence to prove it, it's a belief (just an irrational belief that contradicts Quran, Sunnah, reasoning and the entire history) A Shiite should believe that all irrational claimed events are miracles from Allah, to them he is like Jesus!

The other major belief of Shiites is to believe in the local theocratic leader (beside their Imam), called the Marji' المرجع (meaning "The Reference") to whom they pay fifth of every thing they own, this belief or duty is called the fifth. They subjugate to their theocratic leaders, and gave them the right to interpret Quran based on desires and divert the meaning away from the trivial meaning. More over they gave them the right to override the teachings of prophet Muhammad. Their faith moves over time from completely opposing extremes (once upon time they were fatalist and analogists and they are now isolators). Because some Imams had no children, some Shiites believe in rebirth, others in the return الرجعة (the return of some Imam from death, like Al-Hussien and/or Ali) Because of the huge disorder in their promises, and because their expectations (prophecies) never happened the way they promised, they believe in البداء al-Beda' (that Allah may inspire something to their Imam, then Allah find himself mistaken and changes his mind and let down the Imam! Praised be Allah beyond what they describe). Please note, this is the most common Shiites beliefs, but because they follow direct secret teachings, at any time, they may deny this, and provide you with books that contradicts what I have just mentioned. Be informed that they don't follow their books! they follow direct teachings of their local theocratic leaders, the very one to whom they pay the fifth. Because they teach their sons that the grand author of this book might write this book as another form of guiles (Tuqia).

The other opposite extreme wing is the Al-Nawasib, it's those who hate the family of prophet Muhammad [PBUH], those who hate Ali and his sons Al-Hassan and Al-Hussien. Those are the wrong-doing party الفئة الباغية, They did that because they were not Muslims in the first place, but they were pretending to be so, or they did it for worldly rewards or to prove their loyalty to the Ummiads reign. Shiites are selective regarding prophet family, not on bases of Imaan or good deeds or evidences, but on desires. They hate the descenders of Al-Abbas (the uncle of prophet Muhammad) despite that he was a sincere Muslim, and a companion and his sons were so too. They also hate prophet wives, ..etc. While they claim the love of descenders of Abu Talib (the other uncle of prophet Muhammad who died as an idolater) like Ali (one of the first Muslims who have so many favors). If one neutrally reads history would find that Shiites were Nawasib by deeds, even regarding the Talibi descenders (like Ali).

Also note that there were so many different Shiites sects, Imamism is just a recent sect, the first tendency for Shi'a is called Assabai' Shiites (the followers of a Jewish man called Abullah ibn Saba' who had an odd Jewish beliefs, I mean odd even among Jews too) who claim that Ali is an incarnation of God! and a rebirth of the one who was so in times of Moses and ...etc. He and his followers said to Ali, "It's you, you! you!" Ali said "You what?", they said "Our lord!" he said "What! I'll burn you to death" they said "and who burns in fire except our lord, burn us, we believed!"

  • Q109: How people of Sunnah are different from the people of rejection ?
A: We (people of Sunnah) are moderate, we are not rejectors (the extremists who exaggerate the love of Ali) nor we are the opposite (those who hate Ali ...). We Sunni do love Ali and his sons Al-Hassan and Al-Hussien, we do love the family of prophet Muhammad [PBUH], Ali was one of the first 3 Muslims to follow prophet Muhammad (he and Abu Bakir and the prophet's wife). We consider him the 4th best companion of the prophet, and the fourth legitimate leader of the Ummah (the entire nation), the best one of his time, and his two sons are the leaders of youth people to Paradise. They get such rank because of their good deeds and the so many favors they did. And our love and respect to them is not established based on our desires. We are the followers of the way of Allah "as is", exactly as sent down to prophet Muhammad [PBUH], we are not selective nor innovators nor theocratic metaphysical philosophers. Books of Sunnah are full of their favors, there are entire chapters in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim about their favors.

We (Sunni) use the word Imam to mean a leader, any leader, for example a leading scholar, a leader governor, a judge, even the one who step ahead in Salat. Any one who have a clear juridical record and who do not publicly practice major sins ("لم يرتكب صغيرة ولم يجاهر بكبيرة") maybe called Imam. The word Imam have no holy shadows. We (Sunni) do NOT believe in the Imamah at all, we do NOT believe in inspired dictators! Prophet Muhammad was the last messenger of Allah, the last prophet, who delivered the perfect and complete message to us. A messenger not a king, sent to take out people from the injustice of religions to the justice of Islam not to establish another family Reign. And he did not left a kingdom behind him, he left knowledge and guidance. As mentioned in Quran and Sunnah, for example, { مَا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِنْ رِجَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيماً } meaning { Muhammad is not the father of any of your men. He is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets. Allah has knowledge of all things. } (V33:40) We don't take the theocratic metaphysical approach to prove our ideas, but anyway it is not difficult for anyone to understand why there is no need for an Infallible and Impeccable theocratic governors. We follow the way of Allah. Allah commands us to say that {... To Him belong the Unseen in the heavens and the earth. How well He sees, and how well He hears! They have no other guardian, other than Him, and He allows no one (to share) His rule. ' } (V18:26) This is an aspect of "لا إله إلا الله" (nothing worthy worshiping and obeying but Allah) Theocratic rulers and Hypocrisy masters claim to be gods or having the power to erase sins, we don't buy it وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ * وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُمْ بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ * وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالاً مَعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ } meaning { Most certainly Allah knows the believers and the hypocrites. * The unbelievers say to those who believe: 'Follow our path, and we will carry your sins. ' Yet they cannot carry even a thing of their sins. They are surely lying. * They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads besides their loads, and on the Day of Resurrection, they shall be questioned about what they forged. } (V29:11-13) go back to the Islamic beliefs, or read the story of Pharaoh. And there is no secret knowledge inspired to people, except what he had already revealed to his messengers. (refer to V72:26-28 and V6:59) Woe and Woe and Woe to those who claim such things (refer to V2:79). And regarding the family of prophet Muhammad [PBUH], they are mainly his wives, his daughters, and we add Ali (his cousin, and the husband of prophet's daughter Fatima) and Ali's sons specially Al-Hassan and Al-Hussien because we follow prophet Muhammad[PBUH] who told us so. But this love and respect we have, is due to the love and respect we have to prophet Muhammad, it's regulated with the regulations of Islam. We don't make them gods! Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] taught us that people are equal before Allah, and he can't give his tribe and his family any thing before Allah, and he should warn them { وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ } meaning { Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen [or kinswomen]. } (V26:214) Then prophet Muhammad said publicly (a sound Hadith in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) " يا معشر قريش أو كلمة نحوها اشتروا أنفسكم لا أغني عنكم من الله شيئا يا بني عبد مناف لا أغني عنكم من الله شيئا يا عباس ابن عبد المطلب لا أغني عنك من الله شيئا ويا صفية عمة رسول الله لا أغني عنك من الله شيئا ويا فاطمة بنت محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم سليني ما شئت من مالي لا أغني عنك من الله شيئا" meaning "tribe of Quriash, buy [good deeds] for yourselves [a figure of speech that mean good deeds are profitable and beneficial in the day of judgment], I can't be beneficial to you before Allah. O descenders or Abdu-Manaf, I can't be beneficial to you before Allah. O Abbas ibn Abdu-Mutalib [the uncle of Muhammad], I can't be beneficial to you before Allah. O Saffia the aunt of the messenger of Allah, I can't be beneficial to you before Allah. O Fatima the daughter of Muhammad [PBUH], ask me what ever you want from my money, but I can't be beneficial to you before Allah." This is not specific to prophet Muhammad [PBUH], take the story of Abraham [PBUH] for example, { قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَآَءُ مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَداً حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ إِلَّا قَوْلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ لَأَسْتَغْفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَا أَمْلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ } meaning { You have a good example in Abraham and those with him. They said to their nation: 'We are quit of you, and that which you worship, other than Allah. We disbelieve you, enmity and hatred has shown itself between us for ever until you believe in Allah alone. ' Except that Abraham said to his father: 'Surely, I shall supplicate to ask for forgiveness for you although I have no power to do anything for you with Allah. ' ' Our Lord, in You we have put our trust; to You we turn, and to You is the arrival, } (V60:4) and later Abraham quit supplicating forgiveness for his father, مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا أُولِي قُرْبَى مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ * وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَنْ مَوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ لِلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَأَوَّاهٌ حَلِيمٌ } meaning { It is not for the Prophet or the believers to ask forgiveness for idolaters, even though they are near kindred, after it has become clear that they are the inhabitants of Hell. * Abraham only asked for forgiveness for his father because of a promise he had made to him. [a prospective respite, a period of time] But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allah, he declared himself quit of him. Surely, Abraham was earnest in his supplication and tenderhearted. } (V9:113-114) and even for his descendants { وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَاماً قَالَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ } meaning { And when Abraham was tested by His Lord with certain words and he fulfilled them, He said: 'I have appointed you as a leader [Imam] for the nation. ' (Abraham) asked: 'And of my descendants? ' 'My covenant, ' said He, 'the harm-doers shall not receive it. ' } (V2:124) Imamah beliefs is clearly nullified in this verse, so don't be fooled by romantic falsifications. Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] had another uncle called Abu Lahab, he was a major disbeliever, a major enemy of Islam, the leader of idolaters in the battles Badr! This man asked the messenger of Allah "What would you give me [for being a Muslim] ?" the prophet [PBUH] said "just like other Muslims" Abu Lahab said "no preferential for me [being your uncle, or being an important person] ? Perished be the religion that make me equal with those" Then the following verse is sent down { تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ } meaning { Perish the hands of AbiLahab, and perish he! } (V111:1) This man, the uncle of prophet Muhammad is cursed in Quran, so don't be fooled by romantic falsifications. (refer to Tafseer At-Tabari for V111:1) The son of prophet Noah was not considered from his family because he was a disbeliever { قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ } meaning { He said: 'Noah, he is not of your family. It is not a good deed. Do not ask Me about things of which you have no knowledge. I reproach you lest you become among the ignorant. ' } (V11:46) Prophet Muhammad said that Salman the Persian is to be considered from "Ahlu-Albait" (the family of the prophet). and prophet wives are to be considered mothers of believers { النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ وَأُولُو الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِكُمْ مَعْرُوفاً كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُوراً } meaning { The Prophet has a greater right on the believers than their own selves, his wives are their mothers. Kinsmen are closer to one another in the Book of Allah than to other believers and the emigrants; although you should act honorably towards those you sponsor, that is written in the Book } (V33:6) so every sincere believer is from the family of prophet Muhammad [PBUH], based on Taqwa [Piety, Righteousness, fear of Allah and love of Allah]. Islam is the perfect religion it is not sent down for the family of prophet Muhammad, the best is the best with good deeds, not the nearest to the family of prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad had an uncle called Hamza, he was sincere believer, who was killed by a hit-man called Habashi hired by a woman called "Hind", both later have accepted Islam! and prophet Muhammad[PBUH] did not take revenge from them.

We believe that governors are chosen by people, they are not appointed by Allah. Although people need not choose the best one, so what ?! We believe that it's legitimate to have a good leader while a better one exists and is not a leader. And we are not outlaws خوارج if anyone somehow becomes a leader and things settled down for him, and he was bad and don't match out beliefs we don't rebel, We conduct peaceful reform with wisdom (and ready to pay the price of that, refer what Imam Ahmad and others did [Q86]). (I have cited the saying of Imam Ahmad against the outlaws, you may refer to it again).

Imami Shiites insult Abu Bakir and Omar (the best two companions of the prophet Muhammad) with so many bad things and claim the those two conspired on Ali. How silly ? You know why! Because even the first Shiites respected Abu Bakir and Omar and considered them to be better than Ali. Because Ali himself said so, had said "The best in this Ummah [Islamic nation over generations] after the prophet is Abu Bakir then Omar" and there are 80 reliable persons narrated this saying of Ali directly then exponentially number of followers, till it reached us, it's considered Mutawatir (very sound, at the highest level of authentication) The narrators include his sons Al-Hassan and Al-Hussien. Ali had also said on a public speech "who prefer me on Abu Bakir or Omar, I would Flagellate him the punishment lashes of the calumniator" (that was the judgment of Ali, the highest judge of that time according to Sunnis). Recent Imami Shiites claim that such sayings were just guiles from Ali's side (Tuqia) to protect himself. This is also very silly, because Ali was so brave to face the idolaters and stood in the leading front in the Battle of Badr and in the day of Hijra..etc. even when he was a young man then! Muhammad ibn Al-Hanafiah the son of Ali narrates a dialog between him and his father, have the same meaning, as his son asked him "O father who is the best one among people after the prophet [PBUH]" Ali said "O son, don't you know ?" he said "No", Ali said "Abu Bakir" he said "then who", Ali said "then Omar". This resource was narrated by his son and the Hamadanis (sincere companions of Ali), Was Ali practicing Tuqia guiles before his sons. Ali not only respect Abu Bakir and Omar but also loves them, he named two of his sons after them. Ali was the father-in-law of Omar. All the Shiites claims have no historical value, they are like claiming that "Nilson Mandela was the white leader of the free world as represented by the Nazi army that defeated the USSR evil empire in the Normandy, three years before the World War I, and because of this great victory Mandela was reelected president of south America".

Take any reasonable definition to the term Sunni, then you conclude that prophet Muhammad was a Sunni, "the deeds of prophet Muhammad matches the deeds of prophet Muhammad!" this is trivial (refer to V2:285) but he was not a Shiite (no matter what definition), he did not specify his successor, he let people choose, he did not belief in Imamah, he did not take revenge for Hamza. All the companions were Sunni, including Ali and his sons. Shiites are blatant liars, their Imams publicly disclaimed any relations to them, Ali (their 1st Imam), Al-Hassan (2nd Imam) and Al-Hussien (3rd Imam), his son Ali (4th Imam), Muhammad Al-Baqir (5th Imam) and Ja'far Assadiq (6th Imam), were all Sunni and have great respect among Sunni. (we can't be certain about the rest Imams, the 8th Imam most likely is an isolator معتزلة because he was a student of Wasil Ibn Ata' the philosopher, but isolators are still on the boundary of Sunni unity) Shiites, once upon time, claimed that Al-Shafi'i (one of the 4 most famous Sunni scholars) is one of them, and a great advocate of Shi'a! and he was imprisoned because of that! (to the extend that Al-Shafi'i said "If the claimed rejection is the love of the family of Muhammad, let the two aware-being [mankind and Jinn] witness that I'm a rejector") The 4 major scholars of Sunnah, were known and accepted by the whole Ummah, they were certified by the best scholars before them, and their knowledge covered all over the world, for example, all the judges at the time of Abu Hanifa were his students! (and till know of course, in so many places in the world) and he was a student of more than 4000 direct followers of the companions!! Al-Shafi'i and Ahmad traveled around the world collecting and spreading science, and Malik who never get out Medina , yet the official school in Morocco (the other side of the world known at that time) was his school! go back and read about them. The Sunni methodology regarding the narrations about Ali, is quite simple and neutral, the most reliable narrators are his sons, his servant, his close friends but not the gang that killed Othman for example, not those who never met Ali, fair enough.

  • Q110: what are the metaphysical philosophy that have influenced odd Islamic sects ?
A: People of materialistic analogy: It's those who take attributes of Allah to mean the materialistic meaning that make him like his creatures, they have a physical materialistic image of Allah, flesh, lips, eyes, ... like ours. They came to such conclusions based on metaphysical philosophical falsifications. But this contradicts so many clear verses of Quran, it contradicts that he is Assamad الصمد (independent, none like him, all needs him and He needs none, they need food while ليس له جوف and he do not need food) which is stated in the second verse of Chapter 112 (which weight in value the third of Quran) the meaning is emphasized in the last verse (number 4) of the same chapter which tells us that none like him, none exalted to be equivalent to him. Allah Said in chapter 42 that {... لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ } meaning {... There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearer, the Seer. } (V42:11) so don't imagine flesh ears and eyes. Such falsifications are rooted to an ancient Jewish idea, that visualize Allah as an old man, they think that Moses have seen Allah, and some Jews did, and Jacob had wrestled with him and some man yelled in his face,..etc. They believe that Allah took a rest in Saturday (the Sabbath) after he had created the universe. They imagine that there are poor people because the hands of Allah are chained to his neck and he is cheep and do not give favors! (refer to V5:64) Praised be Allah beyond what they describe. If one could imagine the distance traveled by the fastest car or airplane in one hour, then multiply it by 24, to imagine the distance traveled in a day, multiply it by 365 for a year, could you imagine the distance traveled in several millions of years! multiply it by how much light is faster than airplane, that's the distance of the nearest star to earth, could you image how big is this worldly universe! this is just the worldly heaven, the other 6 heavens are much more bigger, could you imagine your hand in this picture! give up! in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, a Rabbi said to prophet Muhammad that Allah in the day of Judgment will hold heavens on his finger and earth on another ... and then say "I'm the king", prophet Muhammad laughed (because the Rabbi was trying to praise Allah) and recited { وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَالْأَرْضُ جَمِيعاً قَبْضَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالسَّماوَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ } meaning { They have not valued Allah with His true value. But on the Day of Resurrection, the entire earth will be in His grip, and the heavens shall be rolled up upon in His Right. Exaltations to Him! Exalted high is He above all that they associate! } (V39:67) and in the interpretation of V112:1 in Tafseer At-tabari he mentioned that some Jewish Rabbis asked prophet Muhammad[PBUH] to describe the appearance of Allah, his shoulder, his body, his arm! The messenger [PBUH] get angry and recited { وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ ... } meaning { They have not valued Allah with His true value. ... } (V39:67). So do not have any image of Allah (because you make him similar to creatures which is wrong), all of his attribute mentioned in Quran and Sunnah are in the manner that is not similar to any creature, and in the manner that is proper for his glory.
  • Q111: Is there another metaphysical philosophies that have influenced odd Islamic sects ?
A: People of Attribute denial: using same metaphysical philosophical falsifications, to get the other face of the coin of disbelief. Those who deny attributes of Allah that are mentioned in Quran, because they think such attributes are not proper for him, they are not suitable for him. They belief if an attribute is proper for a creature then it can not be an attribute of Allah. According to them, if we have sight then it's not proper to say that Allah have sight, sight is an attribute that is not suitable for Allah. Again, their falsifications are nullified by the same very verse that nullified the previous claims, {... لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ } meaning {... There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearer, the Seer. } (V42:11) Which mean that Allah have sight but not similar to any sight, he have a sight that is proper for his glory. Someone may ask how Allah is exalted, how Allah is willed to the throne. Malik ibn Anas (the companion the son of the companion, not to be confused with Imam Malik the scholar) said "meaning is known, manner is unknown, belief is required, questioning is [bad] innovation"

Allah may have an attribute and in the same time such attribute is given to a creature, for example man is called "the Hearer, the Seer" in V76:2 but yet, you should know that there is no similarity, because the sight of Allah is not like the sight of Humans. Allah is attributed to be رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ the Gentle, the Most Merciful (as in 57:9) yet prophet Muhammad is also attributed to be so (as in 9:128). Allah is attributed to be عزيز حكيم The Mighty, The Wise (in many verses), yet an Egyptian leader is called the mighty (in chapter 12), and many people are attributed to be so (as in V27:34). There is no problem, because their mercy and might and all of their attributes are in the manner that is suitable for their humble being, but the attributes of Allah are in the manner that is proper for his glory and not like any thing. BTW, the word philosophy is rooted about a hypocrisy idea that wisdom is an attribute that is only suitable for gods so philosophers loves wisdom but don't claim it. This is rubbish, (among many people) a man called Lokman is attributed to have wisdom (in Quran V31:12) which mean that man can be attributed to be wise.

  • Q112: Who are the isolators or Al-Mu'tazila المعتزرلة ?
A: A man called Wasil ibn Ata' founded this sect based on metaphysical philosophical falsifications. The reason they are called isolators, is because Wasil was a student (not the best of course) of Al-Hassan Al-Basri (a major Sunni scholar), as any Major Sunni scholar Al-Basri don't answer from the top of his head, he take a while, and think deeply before giving answers. Once he was asked about the outlaws and al-Murji'a, and those who commit sins, before he gave an answer, Wasil replied "a sinner is not a believer nor a disbeliever, he is a rank in between" then he isolated him self in another corner, and took some of his followers there and founded his doctrine. According to Wasil a believer who commit a major sin, then dies he will be punished in hellfire for ever, but in the same rank as disbelievers. The key belief for them that they deny some attributes of Allah like knowledge, power and life. They issued the question "which was first the attribute/adjective or the subject ?", then concluded that primordial/eternal attributes of Allah like knowledge does not exists because (according to their falsifications) then they will believe in many gods (eg. Allah and his knowledge) so they deny that Allah have knowledge, (this also applies to many other attributes) But as then they appear disbelievers as this trivially contradicts Quran, their later philosophers said "Allah knows by himself not by a knowledge, ... Allah sees without sight ...etc.". They also call themselves people of Justice as (according to their falsifications) if Allah creates the evil deed of sinners then he is evil! if Allah knows the sins that people will commit and decree them and he punishes sinners, then this is injustice! so they concluded that Allah do not know people deeds, he did not decree nor create bad things, they are created by sinners who commit them. (according to their falsifications) This is the extreme opposite of the fatalists, which is called anti-fatalists القدرية. This sect completely vanished, and no major advocates for it were known, except Al-Jahiz الجاحظ (an author best known for compiling jokes like البخلاء and eloquent literature like البيان والتبين and giving templates and advices for writers) and it have some influence on Az-Zamakhshari الزمخشري (major Arabic language scholar). No wonder as this sect is just based on metaphysical falsifications, imposed through language pollution.
  • Q113: Who are the Jahamia Fatalists ?
A: A man called Jaham ibn Safuan, used the same very poisoned questions like the previous questions, but to conclude the opposite extreme conclusion. They denied some attributes of Allah like knowledge, but when it come to his power and decree, they confirm it and deny it from people, they claim that people can't do any thing by themselves, people deeds are created by Allah on their hands, he create deeds and make them appear on people, they are not responsible for their deeds. Their article of faith "Man do not have freewill". The consequences of this claim are very trivial, they meant to say "go on commit sins, it's not your fault, you are made so."
  • Q114: How Sunni answers the questions of Fatalists الجبرية and Anti-Fatalists القدرة ?
A: We believe that Allah is the creator, the maintainer, the sustainer, ..etc. Who have the most beautiful names and attributes. He is able to create anything he will, and do anything he will. He knows everything, he decreed everything in the book before the creation. You might want to go back to the Details of Islamic beliefs [Q44] And the deeds of people are their own, they do them with freewill and they are responsible for them, and on the same time they are created by Allah and yet they are not committed by Allah (notice the difference), the bad deeds of people are committed by people. The claims of the anti-fatalists, that "Allah don't create people deeds, don't decree them and don't know them" which is concluded from the given proposition "if people deeds are bad then their creator is bad" is quite silly, because if man eats does this mean that his creator eats ?! and given that إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعاً * إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعاً * وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعاً } meaning { Indeed, the human was created grudging and impatient. * When evil comes upon him he is impatient; * but when good comes upon him, he is grudging * } (V70:19-21) it's very stupid to think that those human attributes are also attributes of the creator! so one can't project the bad deeds committed by creatures on their creator and make that an excuse to disclaim responsibility. If you gave a poor man big charity and told him to use it wisely and warned him from drugs and gambling, but he became an addict, then a criminal and when he was arrested, he plead not guilty and blamed you for giving him too much. It's your fault, would you buy it ?! No he is an adult, he is responsible for his deeds. That's why the claims of القدرية (both Fatalists and Anti-Fatalists) are invalid. Take this verse which talks about the punishment for some Jews (The analogist, the source of fatalism) { ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ } meaning { That, is for what your hands have forwarded. And Allah is never unjust to His worshipers. } (V3:182) and V8:51 which have more general context. You know why they argue about destiny and decree and Allah's will, they need an excuse to escape responsibility, Huh! They know what they have done. { سَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَا آَبَاؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ كَذَلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّى ذَاقُوا بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَا إِنْ تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَ * قُلْ فَلِلَّهِ الْحُجَّةُ الْبَالِغَةُ فَلَوْ شَاءَ لَهَدَاكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ } meaning { The idolaters will say: 'Had Allah willed, neither we nor our fathers would have associated (idols), nor would we have forbidden anything. As such, those who have gone before them belied until they tasted Our Might. Say: 'Have you any knowledge you can bring forth to us? You follow nothing but guessing and you are only speakers of conjecture. ' } (V6:148-149 and { وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدىً وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُنِيرٍ * ثَانِيَ عِطْفِهِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَنُذِيقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ * ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاكَ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ } meaning { Some dispute about Allah, though they have neither knowledge nor guidance, nor an illuminating Book. * There is for him who turns his side to lead (others) astray from the Path of Allah, degradation in this life and We shall let him taste the punishment of the burning on the Day of Resurrection. * 'This, is the reward for what your hands have forwarded. Allah is not unjust to the worshipers. ' } (V22:8-10) I'll left you to read those verses { قُلْ لِمَنْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ قُلْ لِلَّهِ كَتَبَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ } meaning { Say: 'To whom belongs that which is in the heavens and the earth? ' Say: 'To Allah. He has written for Himself mercy, and will gather you on the Day of Resurrection in which there is no doubt. Those who have lost their souls, they do not believe. ' } (V6:12) { مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَلِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ } meaning { He who does good does it for himself; and he who does evil does so against it. Your Lord never wrongs His worshipers. } (V41:46) { قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَعِيدِ * مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ } meaning { He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. * The Word cannot be changed with Me; I do not wrong My worshipers. ' } (V50:28-29) The judgment of Allah will be perfect and fair, { اقْرَأْ كِتَابَكَ كَفَى بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيباً } meaning { 'Read your book. Your self suffices you this Day as a reckoner against you. ' } (17:14) and read { وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَاءُ اللَّهِ إِلَى النَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ * حَتَّى إِذَا مَا جَاءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَارُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ * وَقَالُوا لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدْتُمْ عَلَيْنَا قَالُوا أَنْطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنْطَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ } meaning { On the Day when the enemies of Allah will be rightfully gathered together before Fire, * when they reach it, their hearing, eyes and skins will testify against them for what they were doing. * 'Why did you bear witness against us, ' they will ask their skins, and they will reply: 'Allah has given us speech, as He has given speech to everything. It was He who created you the first time, and to Him you shall return. } (V41:19-21) You might want to go back to the meaning of the decreeing [Q51].
  • Q115: What's wrong with metaphysics and common sense ? How Sunni are different than such philosophers ? How do Sunni answer metaphysical questions ?
A: If you ask most fresh Muslims why have you accepted Islam ? They tell you that they used to ask so many questions, and their previous religion could not gave them real answers. And on the other hand Islam gives you the answer on a plate, a real convincing answers. When I was in the high school and we took a lesson about major philosophers in man history, students laughed and asked "were they serious?", the teacher said "yes", then they ask "were they stupid ?!".

Although many Muslim philosophers are known to Europeans, none represent the real standard Islam. Even if their beliefs matches the standard Sunni beliefs, this is not the Sunni methodology. Common sense work only when there are constitutive common things between the givens and the conclusion, and the givens should be certain, the certainty of the conclusion is less then (or equal) that of least certain given proposition. Thus metaphysics for believers is to conclude clear certain facts from less clear uncertain propositions. A mathematician should know that common sense is completely different than reasoning. For example, in common sense, a thing that contains something and more, then it should be bigger than what it contains, and it has more elements than part of it. This is not true in mathematics, for example take the set of all positive even integers {2, 4, 6, 8, ...}, which is contained in the set of all positive integers (odd and even) and which is contained in the set of all integer (positive and zero and negate), and the set of all rational numbers (eg, 1, 1.5 and -3/4) but they all have the same Cardinality (number of elements)! Well, you know that changing element names won't affect their number, for example by renaming the positive integers to their doubles you get the even positive integers! which mean that positive integers and even positive integers have same Cardinality. Adding a conclusion that "all infinite sets have same cardinality" won't work because for example real numbers don't have the same cardinality as the rational numbers. (can't get it! this is not the place to teach you discreet mathematics).

The logic in metaphysics which is based basically on "logia" (saying, words,..etc.) ie. word games, the pollution of language. Because things need not be what their name indicates, for example, "blue tooth" technology is not based on the vapor of a tooth painted blue, and "Ethernet" has nothing to do with Ether except the name. It's like the stupid conclusion that fishes are smart because they live in schools, or the opposite conclusion that they are too stupid because they waste their enter life in schools and never get certificated. They usually issue poisoned questions that have implied false assumptions.

Regarding Allah, there is nothing common between him and his creatures, there is no similarity at all, as a result common sense do not work. We don't rely on common sense but also we don't replace it with Nonsense, we provide real convincing answers from Quran and Sunnah and reasoning. You may want to go back to see how we interpret imperceptive matters or metaphysics [Q29].

  • Q116: What are the Sufism ways ?
A: Sufism is not a specific concept or beliefs, it can be found on any religion or school (even a football school!). For the records, most Sufis are Sunnies (part of the unity). But what we are about to address is an odd extreme Sufism hyped by the media and protected by some fear, superstitions and governments, they are found on far or ignorant communities. They are called the Sufism ways (the way of this or that man, for example Shadhili way), Tomb Sufism, Gnostic Sufism, Gnosticism.

Sufism literary means "related to wool" as a symbol of rough scratchy life ie. "Asceticism". It mean to have a tough overmodest life, to abstain from delicious food, to abstain from so many legitimate things, to devote oneself for praying. When they buy a new clothing, they tear it and patch it, to make it appear modest and old! This is completely rubbish! as Islam is very permissive, it's a religion for all people, not just the poor, nor to force rich people to become poor! Islam is a kind of religion that bless trade and purify capital money. If you really worship Allah you should follow the commands of Allah { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِلَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ } meaning { Believers, eat of the good with which We have provided you and give thanks to Allah, if you really worship Him. } (V2:172) Who dare to forbid what Allah made permissible { قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَذَلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآَيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ } meaning { Say: 'Who has forbidden the adornment that Allah has brought for His worshipers and the good provision? ' Say: 'They are in this life for those who believe, and purely theirs on the Day of Resurrection. ' As such We distinguish the verses to people who know. } (V7:32) All prophets were commanded so (refer to V23:51), There are so many verses in Quran that teaches us such values for example V5:87-88 and V16:72 which consider such acts to be vanity and disbelief in the favors of Allah. We should show the favors of Allah even when praying (refer to V7:31) Prophet Muhammad[PBUH] did eat Honey and meat, for example. There is nothing wrong of being poor and having a modest life, but the wrong is to be abusive and to pretend being poor for the sake of hypocrisy.

Another aspect of Sufism is called the love of Allah, which mean that their Asceticism is motivated by the love of Allah. What they mean that usual people (ie. Mob) are greedy as they are practicing Islam for Paradise or because they fear hellfire, but Sufies (according to them) are practicing Asceticism and their rituals for the pure love of Allah, they would do that even if there is no Paradise nor hellfire. This is just a romantic hypocrisy approach, it's based on an invalid condition (having no judgment, no reward, no punishment), and compete there, in that imaginary world! if they want to compete in Imaan (faith) let them practice more good deeds, not compete in claimed feelings. Anyway the description for real believers is clearly stated in Quran like in the following verses; { تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفاً وَطَمَعاً وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ } meaning { whose sides forsake their couches as they supplicate to their Lord in fear and hope; who give in charity of that which We have given them. } (V32:16) and { ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعاً وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ * وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفاً وَطَمَعاً إِنَّ رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ } meaning { Supplicate to your Lord with humility [invoking imploringly] and in secret. He does not love the transgressors. * Do not make mischief in the earth after it has been put right. Pray to Him with fear and hope; His Mercy is near to the righteous. } (V7:55-56) notice that they (true believers) fear Allah, fear his punishment so they abstain from sins, and they love Allah, love his rewards, his mercy, hope to get the highest rank in Paradise. If you want to play word games and call such people "greedy" because they are competing giving charity! And those verses describe their supplications, remembrance and invocations to be "in secret" (meaning sincere and not showing before people) and they pray extra optional Salat at night (Tahajud التهجد) sincerely while other people are sleeping and not watching. Which mean that the Sufi ways of having remembrance circles, Dizzily dancing, and alike noisy annoying rituals are no more than hypocrisy and they are forbidden innovations in Islam.

The extreme Sufism started when schools in far places were abandoned by governments and left for superstitions, ignorance and hypocrisy, such schools became Sufi corners "زوايا صوفية" where a locale spiritual leader called Wali (in a way similar to Al-Marji' for Shiites), he is believed to have supernatural power (control rain, able to fly, enter fire, hold ember with his bare hands, ..etc.), people take blessings or intercession from him, ask him for worldly things, ..etc. And governors used to honor and respect those Walis in order to influence and control simple minded people. In such corners they worship Allah in funny ways and through pagan rituals (Dizzily dancing, singing accompanied with forbidden musical instruments, stupid movements, ..etc.) The Wali or The Mawla (both mean guardian) get such respect by claiming being a relative to prophet Muhammad [PBUH] (in a way similar to Shiites) and by showing the fake supernatural acts ..etc. Sufi divide people into two kinds, the public (or mob) and the special class. The mob are responsible to practice Islam, but the special people (called the Ascetics or people of Allah) are not, they need not practice Salat (which is disbelief). Asceticism and abstaining from legitimate things are claimed to be the way to unite with Allah! which is called Pantheism (borrowed from some Persian religions and metaphysical philosophies). This is strictly forbidden in Islam, as we have no guardian (Wali or Mawla) except Allah, we worship him directly, and we believe there is a great punishment for taking any Mawla other than Allah, { مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ مَا كَسَبُوا شَيْئاً وَلَا مَا اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ } meaning { Gehenna (Hell) is behind them, all that they have earned shall not help them at all, nor shall those they took as guardians, other than Allah. For them there is a mighty punishment. } (V45:10) and for such polytheist, nothing will save them from Allah { وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَعِباً وَلَهْواً وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَفِيعٌ وَإِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُوا بِمَا كَسَبُوا لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ } meaning { Avoid those who take their religion as playing and an amusement and are seduced by the life of this world. Admonish them hereby lest a soul be taken by what it has gained, for it has no guardian or intercessor before Allah, and though it offers every ransom, it shall not be taken from it. Those are they who are taken for that which they earned. For them a drink of boiling water, a stern punishment for their disbelief. } (V6:70) There are so many verses about the subject (refer to V6:14, V6:51, V42:9, V29.41, V17.96, ...). Sufi may cite this verse which mention the word Wali (in plural form) { أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ } meaning { Indeed, there shall be neither fear nor sorrow upon the guided by Allah. } (V10:62) to impose that there are Walis and they have supernatural powers as they are protected by Allah,..etc. This is no more than word games, as they tweak subjects and objects,..etc and take the verse out of context. Wali by Allah mean those who are guided by Allah and those who are supported by Allah, that Allah loves them, the context tells us who are they, { الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ } meaning { Those who believe and are cautious [Al-Muttaqun] } (V10:63) They are Al-Muttaqun (as indicated by this verse and by other verses like V8:34) who fear punishment (unlike Sufi who just love for the sake of pure love), they are believers and have the actions of believers which don't match the odd Sufi rituals..etc. If they believe that they are the Walis by Allah then they become like Jews who have the same claim that they are chosen by Allah over people, if so then { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ هَادُوا إِنْ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ لِلَّهِ مِنْ دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ } meaning { Say: 'O you who are Jews, if you claim that of all people, you alone are the guided by Allah, then long for death if you are truthful! ' } (V62:6)

Some Sufi ways have some funny stupid rituals regarding of tombs of claimed good people (Walis or relative of prophet Muhammad[PBUH]), According to standard Salafi Sunnies, even if the tomb really belongs to a good person or even the best ever; prophet Muhammad[PBUH] himself then even praying a standard Salat there is strictly forbidden. (no silly rituals are allowed in Islam) Asking dead people anything is beyond reasoning and is a kind of polytheism. { وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَداً } meaning { Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. } (72.18) and in the sound Hadith in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, prophet Muhammad Said "They [Jews and Christians] used to, when a good worshiper or good man died among them, to build on his tomb a Mosque [a place for worshiping] and made such statues/icons, Such people are the worst creatures before Allah" prophet Muhammad[PBUH] cursed such people, and he warned us from doing this to his tomb.

Innovating new worshiping ways is not permissible. Prophet Muhammad said in the sound Hadith (in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) "who bring an unoriginal thing into this matter [Islam], a thing that does not belong to it, then it's rejected [back to him]" (meaning it does not represent Islam, it's invalid and revoked and nullified) And in prophet's public speeches he used to say "وشر الأمور محدثاتها, وكل بدعة ضلالة" meaning "and the worst matters are the inauthentic unoriginal matters, and all [such] innovations are aberrations" (refer to Sahih Muslim "باب تخفيف الصلاة والخطبة") Not all innovations are bad because Omar had said "What's a good innovation!" but every religious innovation is bad.

  • Q117: But all Muslims pray in the Mosque of Medina which includes the tomb of prophet Muhammad ?
A: No, the tomb of prophet Muhammad [PBUH] is not inside the mosque of Medina, it's so close to the mosque, attached to the mosque but it's not inside the mosque. Actually prophet Muhammad [PBUH] and his two beloved companions Abu Bakir and Omar are berried in usual graves in side the house of prophet Muhammad [PBUH] according to his will (not inside any mosque), in times of Turkish Ottomani reign they renovated the chamber and built the green dome. After several expansions to the Mosque of Medina, the chamber (which was the house of prophet Muhammad in which he is berried in a usual grave) became attached to the mosque of Medina, but it's still not inside the mosque, and people are aware not make it inside the mosque in any future expansions.
  • Q118: You are exaggerating, such Sufi ways are extinct, and most Sufis are usual Sunnies ?
A: This is true, most Sufis are part of "the people of Sunnah and unity", and there were many Sufi scholars that get good acceptance among Muslims, like Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali أبو حامد الغزالي (who used to be a philosopher, later he withdrew his previous ideas, and disclaim them and became a standard Sunni). And the Sannusi السنوسية movement (the major Sufis in Libya which have great influence on all Sufi ways in the western Islamic countries) was inspired by the Wahabi reform movement (the Salafi movement in Arabia, aimed to drop all ignorant superstitions, rituals and inauthentic practices). The unity is a major attribute of the people of Sunnah. And many of the claimed Walis for odd Sufi ways, were standard Muslims, and they were in "fighting" ignorance and superstitions but after they died, odd Sufi ways claimed their love and start having the pagan rituals on their tombs. My intention was to warn you from being driven to such superstitions through fear or through falsifications about the love of Allah. I wanted you to know what is the real Islam.

But yet, I'm not exaggerating, the media hype given to the odd Sufi ways, is very big. Non-Muslim media find it more easy to defeat the ideas of Sufi ways than defeating the standard Salafi Islam. And some governments find it more easy to control people in Sufism coma than people who are guided by Sunnah. For example, in Syria, they have Sufi Dizzily dancers printed on some of their Banknotes. And on many occasions (invalid innovated occasions of course) the government sponsor such festivals and such pagan rituals, and the only media there (controlled media) present such things to be Islam, and the odd Sufi ways to be the people of Allah, "how dare you question the people of Allah!" We don't buy it, this is not Islam. On the other hand, Al-Albani (the best modern scholar in Hadith, and the scholar of the century according to many people including ibn Baz; the chief of department of researches and Fatwa in Arabia) was imprisoned there twice (just like Ibn Taimiah) and one of them was in the very prison in which Ibn Taimiah was imprisoned. Despite that Al-Albani have no political activities!
