Christianity from Islamic perspective.

  • Q129: Do you (Muslims) believe in Jesus Christ ?
A: Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was another prophet of Allah, a regular human who have the honer and duty to deliver the message of Allah to a specific nation, the sons of Israel. Prophet Jesus [PBUH] showed great miracles by the will of Allah. We have discussed that before. We love him because we love prophet Muhammad who say in the Hadith { Narrated Abu Hurairah: I heard Allah's Messenger saying: " I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the Prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no Prophet between me and him [ie. Jesus]." } (Sahih Al-Bukhari, 3258). In Quran, a Christian may find great verses or even entire chapters about prophet Jesus [PBUH] and his mother [PBUH] like chapter 3 (Surat Al-'Imran, ie. the family of Mary's father) and chapter 19 (Surat Mariam ie. Mary) actually Mary [PBUH] is considered (in Islam) one of the best four women ever, just see the following two verses: { لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقْرَبَهُمْ مَوَدَّةً لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَى ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَاناً وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ * وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ تَرَى أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ مِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الْحَقِّ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آَمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ } meaning { Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikun (ie. idolaters, polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, pagans.) and you will find the nearest in love the the believers (Muslims) those who say "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not proud. * And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad). you see their eyes overflowing with tears, because of the truth they have recognized. They say: "Our Lord! we believe; so write us down among the witnesses." } (V5:82-83) as far as I know, when compared to Quran, Mary is hardly ever mentioned in the so called Bibles! I strongly recommend that you listen to chapter 19 now while reading its meaning translation.
  • Q130: After all those years a Muslim is teaching me that he knows about Jesus better than the followers of Jesus (ie. Christians)
A: You (Christians) are not following Jesus [PBUH], you are following Paul. As Jesus [PBUH] told his followers to follow commandments (the law) and who break them will not enter Paradise, while Paul told his followers to break them (this is a fact, refer to any reliable source of yours, read your own Bible). First Christians used to practice them, and they used to consider Jesus [PBUH] as a messenger of Allah not as a God, but they are considered heretics by the followers of Paul. For example, look for the term "Nazarene" in any dictionary, in The Collaborative International Dictionary of English "1. A native or inhabitant of Nazareth; -- a term of contempt applied to Christ and the early Christians. 2. One of a sect of Judaizing Christians in the first and second centuries, who observed the laws of Moses, and held to certain heresies." in Word Net dictionary (Princeton University) it's mentioned that they had "accepted Jesus as the Messiah ..etc." but "they rejected Paul" that's why they are considered heretics. You should know who is Paul you are following see below [Q144].
  • Q131: How can a regular human be born without a father ? Don't you see it ? Jesus is the son of God
A: How ? By the will of who had created Adam before, without a father (more over and without a mother), the All-Mighty; Allah who had created the entire universe from nothing. (as described in verse 3:59) and just think about this { مَا الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ صِدِّيقَةٌ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَ انْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْآَيَاتِ ثُمَّ انْظُرْ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ } meaning { Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a messener; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Mary] was a Siddiqah [ie. sincere believer, she believed in the words of Allah and His Books]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth). But they replied: 'How can we speak with a baby in the cradle? ' * He (the baby) said: 'I am the worshiper of Allah. Allah has given me the Book and made me a Prophet. * He made me to be blessed wherever I am, and He has charged me with prayer and charity for as long as I shall live. * (He has made me) kind to my mother; He has not made me arrogant, unprosperous. * Peace be upon me on the day I was born, and on the day I die; and on the day when I shall be raised up alive. ' * Such was (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary. A saying of truth, concerning what they doubt. * It is not for Allah to take a son! Exaltations to Him! When He decrees a thing He only says: 'Be, ' and it is. * Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path. * } (V19:29-36) and { وَإِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ أَأَنْتَ قُلْتَ لِلنَّاسِ اتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَهَيْنِ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ إِنْ كُنْتُ قُلْتُهُ فَقَدْ عَلِمْتَهُ تَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِي وَلَا أَعْلَمُ مَا فِي نَفْسِكَ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ } meaning { And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O Jesus, son of Mary! did you say unto men: 'worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?'" He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All-knower of all that is hidden (and unseen)." } (V5:116) Jesus [PBUH] was very clear about this to his disciples and followers. Jesus, the honored messenger of Allah, refused to receive praising, see the gospel of Matthew 19:16-21.
  • Q132: But the Bible says that our father in heaven ... ?
A: But they do say different things also.. You believe that this book is from Allah, and we Muslims do believe that Allah had revealed books to his messengers like Moses and Jesus but their followers did not take care with it, and intermix it with their own words, interpolations, ..etc. as a result the authentic books were lost (don't feel offended, see below [Q134] for details). I'm going to lighten some parts of your books, and I'll give you the cross reference so you can check it out, and check the context. If the whole of it is from Allah, then your books should not contradict itself nor contradict your beliefs.
  • Q133: I'm confused, you claim that Jesus is an honored regular human, so why don't just admit that he could be killed or crucified ?
A: Recent Christians claim that Jesus is a sort of god, yet they claim that (disbelievers among) Jews were able to kill him. The very Jews who believe that prophet Jacob [PBUH] were called Israel after Jacob had wrestled and defeated God! and since then they are the blessed powerful chosen nation ...etc.

Almighty Allah, Praised and Exalted is he beyond that they describe! the creator of the universe, who created the universe and no weariness touched him. (reread Islam beliefs) His messengers were regular humans, disbelievers among Jews had killed some, and they conspired on Jesus to kill him, yet they failed! As a matter of possibility Jesus could be killed as any other human, but as a matter of historical fact, we believe that he was saved from their hands.

  • Q134: Do you (Muslims) believe in the Bible is a revelation from Allah ? Don't tell me that the authentic Gospel is that of Barnabas
A: Which one, It seems that whoever writes whatever he wants and call it "The Bible" or "The Gospel". The most common one is King James's Bible but The Standard Revised Version tells us that the earlier one have a lot of errors. Any way, the word bible means the book (it's from a similar Greek word derived from Egyptian papyrus), it's a collection of so called sacred books, several books before Jesus (called the the Old Testament like Genesis, Exodus, Books of Samuel, Psalms ..etc.) and 4 different books each is assumed to be the Gospel which was revealed to Jesus [PBUH], the oldest historical proof for them back to the 4th AD century but they are assumed to be written in the first century! Yet it's known that they were written by people who had never met Jesus, and contains their own opinions and their conflicting views. Such books contains many good things that their most sincere followers do not practice nor believe.

We (Muslims) believe that the authentic Gospel was a revelation from Allah, yet it is not now. Authentic Gospel was lost, none of currently available bibles are authentic (including the Gospel of Barnabas which name prophet Muhammad), they may have some roots, they may have some wisdom but they are not the real authentic Gospel. What you have is a rephrasing of teachings which have been seriously interpolated. Christian's scriptures we have now are inauthentic. { أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ آَدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آَيَاتُ الرَّحْمَنِ خَرُّوا سُجَّداً وَبُكِيّاً * فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيّاً * إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآَمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَأُولَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئاً } meaning { These are whom Allah has blessed among the Prophets from among the seed of Adam and of those whom We bore with Noah; the descendants of Abraham, of Israel, and of those whom We have guided and chose. For when the verses of the Merciful were recited to them, they fell down prostrate, weeping. * But the generation that succeeded them wasted their prayers and followed their desires, so they shall encounter error * except he who repents and believes and does good works; those shall be admitted to Paradise and shall not be wronged in any way. } (V19:58-60)

  • Q135: Can you prove that ?
A: There are so many contradictions in them, that leads you to be sure that if one bible of them is correct then the others are wrong. More over one may find a contradiction in the same book in a single page! Some of bible writers describe events that Jesus was alone ("then he left them, and did so and so alone!"), this completely irrational. But there is no need to take that rational approach, as in the opening of the so called Gospel of Luke 1:1-4 which tells us that many were writing Bibles so he is going to write his own! that clearly! more over he did not claim that it's an inspiration, nor a direct teaching of Jesus [PBUH], not even a rephrasing of Jesus teachings, Luke actually have not met Jesus. It's just messages to someone (a Roman clerk maybe) telling him whatever he was able to know. The starting of the first verse of the opening chapter in Quran "بسم الله ..." meaning "in the name of Allah ...", the first two verses of Quran after the opening chapter are { ألم * ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدىً لِلْمُتَّقِينَ } meaning { A.L.M. [Arabic letters; Alif Laam Meem] * That is the (Holy) Book, where there is no doubt. It is a guidance for the cautious (of evil and Hell). } (V2:1-2) This is Quran, direct words from Allah. What for ? for Guidance. Simple, clear. Hear and understand.

The so called "Gospel of Mark" which is the oldest known one (both of Luke and Matthew had used it as reference). AFAIK. ( Many Muslim scholars claimed that Mark is the oldest, but I doubt that because missionary Christians claim that Matthew is the oldest one, by searching encyclopedias I found that most Christian researchers, scholars, theologians in the 20th century adopted a new theory that support that Mark is the oldest one). Mark recorded in his own words all what he could remember of what Peter had told him (as supposed by Christians). Not a revelation from Allah, nor phrasing of Jesus [PBUH], not even a rephrasing from Peter. It's just Mark's own words, Mark is the author. (I know that Christians believes that Mark and the others are inspired messengers of Jesus; the god. But let's first discuss the whole issue) More over no one knows how reliable this Mark was or at least who he is (he need not be the same Mark mentioned in Paul's Epistles), as the name Mark is one of the most common names there and then, and after all those years nowadays there are no two matching hand-written versions of this book, all have major differences, more over the endings 9 to 20 are proofed to be added after 180 AD where as the original (book of Mark) is supposed to be written 60-70 AD (no copy having such date is found, it's just assumed for no reason, the earliest evidence pertinent to the authorship from 3rd century, see below [Q143] to know what happened at that time) Christians tended to link the gospels with one of the so called 12 apostles (for no real reason), so some say this Mark was the interpreter of Peter, others say he is John Mark (cousin of Barnabas) , let me quote: "but there are reasons to doubt it ... Hence, many scholars believe that the Gospel was written by an otherwise unknown early Christian named Mark" (MS Encarta 2003). The most shocking information I found, is that the most acceptable theory among Christian scholars today, is called "modified two-document hypothesis" which claim that there were two different Gospels of Mark; one is called The Quelle (German for "source") or Logia (Greek for "sayings") which was written in Aramaic (the mother language of Jesus [PBUH]) which was lost and a second one which we have. The "source" Gospel according this hypothesis was employed by Matthew and Luke (and of course by the Gospel of Mark we have). We [Muslims] have been saying so for centuries, The Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) are distorted versions that are based on a good source. (as I said there were many Marks)

The so called "Gospel of Matthew", which is most likely to be written between 85-105 AD, among many critics, this book predicted sooner ends of the world (even before the death of the 12 apostles) like Matthew 10:23, 16:28 and 24:34 but none happened, which mean that it's not from Allah nor at least from Allah's messenger (in other words it's forged). The so called "Gospel of John" is a rewriting of already existing bibles, but it reorder events and change their locations, in away that contradicts the other three bibles, why? John told us why, in the ending 21:20, just to tell us that Jesus is the son of Allah, and John will ignore all other facts (John 30:20). Let me quote from a Christian reference about John "He presented his message in terms influenced by the philosophical milieu of his time, in a form perhaps more accessible both to Christians of the later church and to Hellenistic Gentiles than to his contemporaries." (Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2003, titled "John, Gospel According to") I'm terribly shocked that Christians don't know what their scholars have discovered and still argue us that those Gospels are inspired revelation from Allah! I'm informed that they are still rephrasing it, as some Jews managed to introduce the "VersionToday's New International" which replaced the word "Jews" with another word to avoid being antisemitic, that easy! Christians just received that version! Muslim scholars were the first to warn them from it.

Most of Matthew's opinions and Luke's opinions contradict those of Paul completely. To summarize all that, the canonical bibles are just books written by (uninspired) humans, they are the authors of those books, the authors are not well-known, written in unknown location (just look under authorship in any reference library or encyclopedia), in uncertain time, their contents are inconsistent with facts, or with each other or with themselves. Although, Churches used to maintain the idea that those books were inspired from Allah (as in the Council of 1869-1870 in Vatican) But in a second Council of 1962-1965 in Vatican, in the forth document, they state that some portions of those books are impure and have mistakes. An average reader may understand mistakes to be something as typing mistakes (l instead of I) or words that are phonetically alike (write/right) or or even words that have close meanings (big/giant) but what they really are mistakes in beliefs. The introduction of the Pentateuch printed in 1960 AD by Catholics, states, that Moses did not wrote them nor he had supervised writing... and the introduction of the bible of Ruth, states that the author write it based on unknown memoirs, then he added some details to give it life and literature value!! (how then Moses could write or tell people to write that "then Moses died" and that he is buried over their!) The Arabic translation (by American Protestants in Beirut) for the first Epistle of John (5:7 and 5:8) include the phrase "... The Father, the word and the holy spirit ..." while other translations don't include it at all, actually, there were no original Greek copy have such phrases. Another Protestant translation (the one with comments, footnotes and citations) put that phrase between parentheses (and in the introduction state that they do not exist in ancient copies, that clearly!). Churches authenticate bibles based on their own limited knowledge, their own understanding, and their own beliefs. Based on contents they are willing to reject any ancient original copy. They gave themselves the right to add sentences to the body and remove others (to clear or what they think that could be misunderstood) { فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ الْكِتَابَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَذَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ لِيَشْتَرُوا بِهِ ثَمَناً قَلِيلاً فَوَيْلٌ لَهُمْ مِمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَهُمْ مِمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ * وَقَالُوا لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلَّا أَيَّاماً مَعْدُودَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَهْداً فَلَنْ يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ عَهْدَهُ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ * بَلَى مَنْ كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَاطَتْ بِهِ خَطِيئَتُهُ فَأُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ * وَالَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ } meaning { Woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say: 'This is from Allah, ' in order to gain a small price for it. So woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for their earnings. * They say: 'The Fire will never touch us except for a number of days. ' Say: 'Did Allah make you such a promise for Allah never breaks His promise or do you say about Allah what you do not know? ' * Indeed, he who earns evil and becomes engrossed in his sin, they are the people of the Fire; in it they shall remain for ever. * But those who believe and do good works are the people of Paradise; for ever they shall live in it. } (V2:79-82)

I can't compare how Quran was preserved to how those books were preserved, but (to make it easier for you) take the case of preserving Sunnah (the teachings of prophet Muhammad [PBUH] as phrased by him) and compare it with those books. Muhammad [PBUH] had thousands of companions (those who swore allegiance under the tree alone were more than a thousand) we are able to name them, order them [by importance], name the students of each, order the students as ordered by their teachers, trace narrations, evaluate chains reliability in content-independent neutral way, ...etc. This way we authenticate Sunnah. We have many resources that have exponentially parallel narration trees, that it's impossible to be forged (we call it Mutawatir).

  • Q136: There is no doubt in all bibles (despite all "mistakes"), about "Trinity", they all confirm it.
A: Actually, it's not, there is no place in the complete bible the word "trinity" could be found (the verse having a close meaning "three in one" in the Gosple of John was dropped from the revised version, which is of course was not revised by Muslims!) nor in any place that Jesus [PBUH] told people himself to worship him or telling them himself that he is a God. there are no doubt that the so called "Paul the Apostle" is the founder of Christianity we know today, Paul not Jesus [PBUH]. Paul who had never met Jesus (why do they called him Apostle/disciple then! Oh! yes, he claim to met Jesus in mysterious way after Jesus had been raised to heaven), Paul invented the concept of "Trinity", and that the believe (in this concept) is the only way to heaven (not practicing good deeds), it seems that Paul (who did not marry) is the source of Monastic beliefs (that man should not marry to devote himself for praying), refer to V57:27 of Quran. Paul clearly mix things from himself and things that he claimed to be from God, as in his First Epistle to the Corinthians in (7:8) he told people not to marry "like me" (ie. like Paul) then "not me, it's your Lord", and then later "God said". Paul was not convinced about that it was "inspiration" as he kept saying "I think", "I doubt",...etc. (see below [Q144]) Note that all the 4 canonical bibles were written after at least 15 years of Paul's Epistles. And taking in consideration that churches authenticate bibles based on contents for no real reason, and reject other bibles for no real reason, I assume the churches had authenticated bibles that matches Paul's beliefs.

IMHO, it was easier for him just to mix Judaism with pagan Greek mythologies (eg. Avatars, icons, touchable gods, visible gods), used language pollution, and he used (I mean abuse) the name of Jesus in those mythologies. If you want to take the rational approach just consider a story that is common in some bibles (Matthew 21:12-21, Mark 11:12-24) despite differences (event duration, event sequence ie. after/before, ...etc.) we can summarize that Jesus (according to Paul's beliefs he is the god, the son of god, the incarnation or the avatar) was hungry (which is an abasement to a god!) and he went to figs tree (a little, wretched, despicable creature), as he needed (which is another insult to a god!) food from creature, he did not know that it wasn't the season for that fruit or he forget (not knowing or forgetting is not an attribute of a god!) and instead of bringing fruit from it, he cursed it! (which is a negative deed even for a human, at least because the tree is not responsible for that!). We Muslim can't accept such story about prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him), prophet Jesus was an honored human who carry the message of Allah, who was so kind and tender, he won't curse a sinner (what do you think of a tree). Chapter 5 of Quran mention an entire food table from heaven which was given to prophet Jesus for his disciples and V3:37 mention that his mother Mary used to be given fruits (even though it wasn't their season!).

Yet, Paul's plot was not perfect, there were so many contradictions. The real concepts still there, for example John 17:3 states that the eternal life in heaven is for those who believe in the one true God! and (who believe) Jesus he had sent. (ie. Jesus [PBUH] is a sent messenger) and just refer to Mark 12:29 and Luke 18:18 (there are many other citations)

Islamic beliefs are simple there is only one true god (God, the creator, Allah), there is no other god, there is no incarnations of him, no symbol for him. It's very easy to understand what "one" means. Why would the almighty creator needs a son anyway, is he getting old and weak ? or is he going to die ? or does he need help ? Yet, what is far more irrational is to say he and Jesus are still one or should I say "is still", and as if this is not irrational enough, he is composite of three separate different things! (let mathematics burn in hell, one is composite!).

  • Q137: Yet, there is no doubt that Jesus is The Messiah, The savior of mankind from the sins of Adam. to purify human race from desecrate .. Sacrifice ... etc. The balance between mercy and justice ...etc
A: The Semitic word "Messiah" means Christ ie. "Anointed with oil" (maybe a figure of speach that mean blessed or handsome) and have nothing to do with the savior, or pagan Greek sacrifices to get sins forgiven. Allah forgives whoever he will and punishes whoever he will. Allah's will was not to forgive who ascribe associates to him (he will not forgive polytheists, those who die polytheists), and he may forgive anyone else, Allah had decreed mercy on himself, his judgment is perfect wisdom and mercy, it's up to him, as all the universe belongs to him. { وَإِذَا جَاءَكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآَيَاتِنَا فَقُلْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ أَنَّهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ مِنْكُمْ سُوءاً بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَنَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ } meaning { When those who believe in Our verses come to you, say: 'Peace be upon you. Your Lord has decreed Mercy on Himself, if any one of you commits evil through ignorance, and then repents, and mends his ways, then He is Forgiving, the Most Merciful. ' } (V6:54) You should know that Allah forgave Adam { فَتَلَقَّى آَدَمُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ } meaning { Then Adam received Words from his Lord, and his Lord relented towards him. He is the Receiver of Repentance, the Merciful. } (V2:37) indeed, Allah is so merciful, Allah loves those who repent. { قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعاً إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ } meaning { Say: 'O My worshipers, who have sinned excessively against themselves, do not despair of the Mercy of Allah, surely, Allah forgives all sins. He is the Forgiver, the Most Merciful. } (V39:53)

Yet, Christians do believe that all human race are defiled or disgraced for the sin of Adam by inheritance despite that they know that this is not justice (refer to Deuteronomy 16:24), I don't know what do they think about great prophets like Abraham, Noah and Moses (peace be upon them), why this supposed anger toward Adam was hidden for thousands of years (or do they think that almighty creator was unable to make that decision till then), and what do they think about later sins of human race. Saving human race has nothing to do with a sadistic theatrical demonstration play acted by the powerful creator who sent an incarnation toy god, to get him humiliated then killed, then brought him back to life then let him die to be later resurrected! It's about to believe in one and only true god and practice sincere good deeds for his sake. Even bibles state that clearly, see Matthew 19:16-21, Matthew 25:34-46, Jacob 2:19-24, Jacob 1:27. Pagan Greek Mythologies have nothing to do with that. While on the other hand beliefs in all pagan religions is about forming a hypocrisy system that convince people of having a way to be saved or purified other than sincere good deeds, usually icons, idols or intermediates who are given intercession right, who claim to have the right to grant Paradise to whoever they like. Priests claim to have the right to forgive people by a word or confession while they claim that Allah can't just forgive sinners when they repent and practice enough good deeds.

  • Q138: What about the holy spirit ? What is it ?
A: The word spirit have many meanings depending on context. Generally speaking [Off topic] it could mean the soul of any thing (eg. a human soul), it could mean supernatural and unseen, it could also mean an angle (because we can't see angles), and it could mean inspirations (revelations, books from Allah, ...etc.) because they are sent through angles. And some pagans call Alcohols spiritual drinks or "spirits of wine" because they consider the resulted state of besotting to be a reward or a contact with other worlds! So to unambiguously refer to a specific meaning one should surround it with suitable context or use more specific synonyms.

The Holy Spirit in the story of Jesus [PBUH] have many other names; The archangel (the chief of angles) Gabriel (V2:97, V2:98 and V66:4); Gabriel is an angle (a spirit) who is sent down with inspiration (also called a spirit, V40:15) to messengers, and he may have carried miracles to the prophet, and he had carried punishment to ancient disbelievers. Gabriel is The Spirit (V97:4 and V70:4), the holy spirit (V2:87, V2:253, V5:110 and V16:102), the trustworthy spirit (V26:193). It's mentioned clearly in the bibles (old and new testimony) that the holy spirit is the angle Gabriel, for example, Luke 1:26-28, 1:13-15, 1:34-35 (before jumping into conclusions, read next two verses 1:36-37). To remove the poisoned context Christians have, one have to trace several verses in the bibles as in Exodus 23:20-21, Books of Samuel 10:1-10, 16:14, Psalms 51:10-11, Mark 3:28-29, Matthew 12:31-32 and Luke 3:21-22.

The holy spirit in Arabic is روح القدس (and it's used by Christians even before Islam) but one should know that the second word "القدس" corresponding to "Holy" is not accurate. For the sake of clarification (not opposing being holy), The word القدس means "praised, blessed, decent and purified" to reject the great calumny claimed by children of Israel about Mary and to emphasize that she was chaste, decent and sincere.

  • Q139: But Quran indicates in V4:171 that Jesus is Allah's spirit, Jesus is Allah's word. Isn't it ?
A: No!, Not in the corrupted meaning suggested by the poisoned context imposed by recent Christians. Here is the verse { يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ إِنَّمَا الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُ فَآَمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَلَا تَقُولُوا ثَلَاثَةٌ انْتَهُوا خَيْراً لَكُمْ إِنَّمَا اللَّهُ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ سُبْحَانَهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلاً } meaning { People of the Book, do not exaggerate your religion. Do not say about Allah except the truth. Indeed, the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, is only a Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah, and His Word (Be) which He gave to Mary, and a (created) spirit by Him. So believe in Allah and His Messengers and do not say: 'Trinity.' Refrain, it is better for you. Allah is only One God. Exaltations to Him that He should have son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, it is sufficient that Allah is the Guardian. } (V4:171) clearly! This word was "Be" (ie. unusual birth, a supernatural miracle by the will of Allah) even in the bibles this meaning of "word" could be found, for example, Psalms 6:33, Epistle to the Hebrews 3:11, Second Epistle of Peter 3:5. While the meaning suggested by John 1:1 (that God is a word, and Jesus is the incarnation of the word, ..etc) is reject as it state ".. the beginning ..." and there is no beginning for Allah. He is the first, unlimited, unbounded. (some scholars were able to trace back the bad interpretation that led to such distorted beliefs to recover a guess of what might the text was about, they conclude that it was about the decree of universe creation)

The soul of Jesus is owned and created by Allah, as every soul in this world and as every creature. Why doubt that ? Is there other gods who are capable to create ? { هَذَا خَلْقُ اللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ بَلِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ } meaning { Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. } (V31:11) (see also V13:16, V35:40 and V46:4)

"This is my keyboard", knowing that I am a human, when I say it's my keyboard, you understand that it's a keyboard that I own or I use. Knowing that I am a manufacturer, then it is a Keyboard I produce. Knowing that I am a "talking computer" then you understand that it's a separated part of the computer. The same about "This is my book", if I'm a writer it means I'm its author, if I'm not then it's a book I read or own. What If I'm a "talking shelf"! Your judgment in each case is based on your previous knowledge about me, my being, my attributes, what things that I have as parts, as attributes, as external tools, or as possessions. Praised and Exalted is Allah beyond that they describe! He is one, who have the most beautiful names and attributes, among them The creator, The One. When we say "his will", "his knowledge", "his sight", "his mercy", ..etc. we are listing some of his attributes (with no denial, yet with no analogy, no similarity, no conclusions based on similarity, as none like him) on the other hand when we say "his creation", "his angles", "his messengers", or "his throne" the meaning is clear, as in this verse { فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا } meaning { the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the she-camel of Allah, let her drink.' } (V91:13). Which mean Allah gave his messenger Saleh [PBUH] a miracle, a she-camel that came out from a solid rock-Plateau. The she-camel is another creature of Allah.

  • Q140: What is real the story about Jesus and Crucifixion ? How Quran tells that story ? Many people saw it. don't just tell me it's a fake story.
A: They think that they saw it, yet doubts surrounded all aspect of this event. To state it clear, in Islam we believe that someone who have the exact look of Jesus [PBUH] was executed through crucifixion, that one who was nailed on the cross was not Jesus [peace be upon him]. I'm going to tell you portion of the story of Jesus, the certain story as we know it through Quran verses. Some uncertain less important parts of the story we could conclude from the bibles (those are considered by Christians to be canonical), we refer to them as a human effort to record a historical event not as a revelations from Allah, which mean when stories of those bibles are different or contradicting each other, then we could pick the most consistent one, the most rational one, by comparing them with the certain facts we know from Quran.

The story of prophet Jesus in Islam, is so clear. Jesus is a regular human, born with a miracle by the will of Allah (his word "Be"), he is a prophet; a messenger to a specific nation, (the lost Israelis, refer to Matthew 10:5-7 and Matthew 15:24) like many messengers sent before him. Jesus did his job, he delivered the message, the message of Islam of course, just like prophets before him had done, The message is mercy for human kind, which saves who follow it, the message is quite simple; to believe in Allah (the one and only true god) and practice sincere good deeds. Jesus [PBUH] like Moses [PBUH] and some other messengers was given a book (Gospel), which was later lost (by the will of Allah, for a great wisdom in his knowledge) just like the books of other messengers. Jesus [PBUH] was given great miracles just like prophets before him (for example he brought some dead people back to life by the will of Allah, like what prophet Moses[PBUH] had done before). His nation (sons of Israel) were very severe on him because they are perverse, many did not believe his great signs, yet some believed him. Romans had control of that region, they were disbelievers, they treated him as insurgent who wanted to be the king of the Jews. (or that was their excuse) Sons of Israel (or Jews) wanted to kill him as they did with many other messengers before (like Zachariah and John). Execution through Crucifixion was so common then and there. (here ends a certain portion of the story) According to some bibles, when he know what they were planning, at first, prophet Jesus [PBUH] was very cautious not to be caught by them (as described in Gospel of John 7:1, 11:53-54, 7:16-19, 8:37-40), yet (because he trust Allah and Jesus take rational reasons decreed by Allah) he was promising (based on what Allah had told him) that they will fail in that, he did challenge them that they will not be able to do that (and according Gospel of John, 7:32-34, 8:21-29, 16:32-33). Bibles says that one of his 12 sincere students (who are all promised with Paradise in some bibles, Matthew 19:27-29) was a traitor, who took money for betraying Jesus. The traitor who lead them to Jesus according to some bibles gives them a sign that Jesus is the one who he is going to kiss (Gospel of Mark 14:43-52, similar story exists in books of Luke and Matthew) while the other bible mention that Jesus identified himself courageously (Gospel of John 18:3-8) which means one thing, that authors of those books (or at least one of them) are completing the story from their own imagination. Those four bibles mentioned that soldiers (who came to catch Jesus at that night) retreated and fall down or flee away because of something strange and supernatural (according to the very last verses of those bibles we have just mentioned). Each bible later tell us different story. We could suppose that the strange thing that happened at that point was what Jesus was promised before (see John 3:14), another certain miracle of Jesus we know from Quran : { إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنْتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ } meaning { Allah said: ' (Prophet) Jesus, I will take you to Me and will raise you [alive] to Me, and I will purify you from those who disbelieve. I will make your followers (who died before Prophet Muhammad) above those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then, to Me you shall all return, and I shall judge between you as to that you were at variance. } (V3:55) each bible tells a different story about Crucifixion, in terms of time (Friday according to Mark, Matthew, Luke or Thursday according to John, daylight or sunset, 3 o'clock according to Mark 15:25 who had coined all times in triplets [start at 3, darkness at 6, despair at 9], after 6 according to John 19:14-16), transporting the crucified man (he dragged himself, according to John 19:16-17, or being dragged by a named infamous executioner according to Mark 15:20-22, and both of Matthew and Luke confirms that), location (beside a skull in an execution field, How certain! that location is unknown according to interpretation of the Gospel of Mark), prayers of the crucified man (did he ask forgiveness to those people according to Luke 23:33-34 or not), the exact title on the cross, cross shape (x-shaped which was most common in Roman execution and enable the crucified man to drag himself; ie John story yet it can't hold a banner, or T-shaped or + shaped which could hold the title but should be carried by another person), witnesses (relatives and women near the cross according to John 19:25 which Roman won't allow, or faraway according to the other three, Mark 15:40-41, Matthew 27:55-56, and Luke 23:49), supernatural events after crucifixion as a sign of anger (John; no, the three others; yes).

The certain story we know from Quran is that { فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِمْ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِمْ بِآَيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ بَلْ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً * وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَى مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَاناً عَظِيماً * وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْهُ مَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِيناً * بَلْ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَزِيزاً حَكِيماً } meaning { So, for their breaking of the covenant, and disbelieving the verses of Allah, and killing their Prophets without right and for saying, 'Our hearts are covered' no, but Allah has sealed them for their disbelief, so, except for a few, they do not believe. * Also for their disbelief and their saying about Mary a great calumny, * and for their saying, 'We killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah. ' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but to them, he (the crucified) had been given the look (of Prophet Jesus). Those who differ concerning him (Prophet Jesus) are surely in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of supposition, and (it is) a certainty they did not kill him. * Rather, Allah raised him up to Him. Allah is Almighty, the Wise. } (V4:155-158) the human effort made to bring meaning translation is not perfect, it gives an aspect, an interpretation. The certain facts we conclude from this Quranic verse are: disbelievers (among sons of Israel who used to refer to themselves as Jews) wanted to kill prophet Jesus [PBUH], there was a crucified man (at least one), yet they [Jews] themselves are not certain, they said they did kill the son of Mary, the "Messiah", the messenger of Allah (not the Messiah in pagan Greek mythology), they know that prophet Jesus is a messenger from Allah yet they wanted to kill him (because they are a kind of disbelievers we call معاند who know the right thing yet do the wrong, as "to believe" does not mean "to know", like someone who know that smoking is harmful yet he insists on smoking. For example, Satan knows that Allah exists, yet Satan is a disbeliever) and they wanted to believe that they were able to kill Jesus. (according to Ibn Katheer interpretation of this part of this verse, Jews were mocking Jesus by saying "You [the crucified one] claim to be sent from Allah! Save yourself. We killed the Messiah, the Messenger of Allah.") They were confused, they supposed they had killed him because they wanted to, because they did all of their effort, precautions, ..etc. they insisted on committing that crime, they had committed it on a false target (or targets) so to speak, in other words they failed! any one could know that because they differ (tell different inconsistent stories) that none of their stories are certain as if they were certain such contradictions won't exist for a single major event, so important event that we are still discussing several thousand years later, an event that is supposed to be witnessed by the public. What is certain is Quran, what Allah tells us. Allah saved his messenger. Prophet Jesus [PBUH] was left alive (in flesh) to heaven, (by the will of Allah, for a great wisdom and this is not a figure of speech, Jesus was raised up). Why? How? and who? ..etc. what happened down there ? it is not really important. It's like someone telling you "Look, is that you house burning over there ?" and you ask "what is the color of the smoke ?". Let me before address the meaning of this verse before going into what happened.

There was a great confusion (can't tell the difference between things that apparently alike) this is what the sentence "شبه لهم" tells us, in this verse. This two-word sentence have an advanced grammatical structure which I can't translate, the human effort done by the two grand translators do not give the exact meaning, (it gives a reasonable close interpretation), the second word "لهم" simply means "to them [or before them]" but it comes after the first word "شبّه" which is verb but morphology is used to make it super-transitive; a verb that requires two objects (in Arabic grammar, a super-transition verb, that require three elements; from-state [OBJ1], to-state [OBJ2], and cause [subject], consider "I made it something", I:subject, made:verb, it:object1, something:object2. like this Arabic statement "شبه الشاعر الفقر رجلاً" if one element is missing then the next phrase take the missing place) more over morphology is used to make the first word "شبّه" a passive voice verb (and attached with a single pronoun "he" as an object). The subject is missing because it's passive voice (meaning "by the will of Allah"), only one of the grammatically needed two objects exists, so the second phrase "لهم" ("to them") take its place, meaning "to what was before their eyes". The root of the first word means to resemble (to give similar appearance), after morphology it means "to get things to be made confusing due to appearance similarity" so its meaning is close to "to them [Disbelievers] he [Jesus] was made [by the will of Allah] to be, get them confused because his look was given to what was before their eyes of substitutes" (the whole story in two words only, this is Arabic the language of unambiguity)!

Here is the less important uncertain portion of the story. We (Muslims) don't know how they were confused, who was crucified, yet we are certain that he was not Jesus. We are not interested to know those details, yet some scholars address this issue. There are many possibilities, here are some. Missionary Priests who had accepted Islam assume that the traitor (among the disciples of Jesus [PBUH]) was given the appearance of Jesus, so they crucified him (as a punishment for his betrayal), what support this assumption is that the traitor disappeared after Crucifixion (not mentioned in Mark and John while Matthiew and Luke mention that he was finished in two different mysterious ways, which mean he disappeared and they assumed how, a suicide or a cursed bloody finish among many other differences, so what is certain in the 4 bibles that he was finished, how is uncertain) and because the one who was crucified was yelling "O my Lord, O my Lord, why have you waived/abandoned me!" (Mark 15:32-34) which is a sign of disbelief in Islam (questioning Allah's wisdom) Jesus won't do that, because Allah promised his prophet see John 29:8, and even if Jesus is supposed to be disparate, in such case he would supplicated for mercy or for help from Allah, and Allah would save him as he saved Jonah from the whale (for example see Luke 22:39-46, please note some copied omit 43 and 44). We don't confirm nor deny the existence of the traitor among the disciples (apostles), because Quran tells us that "they said" (but do not indicate whether they were sincere) in the two verses in Quran (V3:52 and V61:14) about the disciples (in the so called the Last Supper apparently) notice the first verse { فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ عِيسَى مِنْهُمُ الْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنْصَارِي إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنْصَارُ اللَّهِ آَمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ } meaning { When (Prophet) Jesus felt their disbelief, he said: 'Who will be my helpers in the way of Allah? ' The disciples replied: 'We are the helpers of Allah. We believe in Allah. Bear witness that we are submitters (to Allah, ie. Muslims). } (V3:52) and after two verses, they (who Jesus knew that they were disbelievers among the sons of Israel, which may including some disciples) beguiled something, then after one verse (ie. V3:55 we have mentioned before) someone was crucified and Jesus was raised. The other verse about the disciples tells that some believed while others did not among sons of Israel (maybe including some disciples) and V5:18 clearly state that some among those "who had said we are helpers [Christians]" have forgotten their Covenant.

More detailed story is mentioned by At-Tabari (the best classic interpretation, among other possibilities mentioned) based on narrations from priests who had accepted Islam (we had given citations from bibles, refer to them), which is more reasonable. I'm going to rephrase it for you, translate it and give more citation from the so called canonical bibles, I'm using annoying mathematical language ("at least one", and alike phrases) to give as much as possible accurate meaning, one may translate them using more elegant less accurate language. That Jesus [PBUH] was surrounded or trapped with small number of his disciples in a house (a specific number of them that is known to disbelievers). Jesus served his disciples himself (he feed them with his own hands, he washed their hands, ..etc.) they were shocked, Jesus [PBUH] told them to learn not to be pride (as V5:82 tells us that those who are not pride among those "who had said we are helpers [Christians]" in other words they had been told not to be pride before). Disbelievers said "let Jesus come out or we are going to enter and kill all of you" (they can't recognize him, because his look is given to them all here or because they don't know him). Jesus felt it is the time, he asked them "Who are my Ansari [plural of Nasrani which means a helper of prophet Jesus Christ for the sake of Allah or Christians for short]" some submitted to Allah (by believing and obeying Allah's messenger) and replied "I am" and Jesus supplicated for mercy to them. According to Ibn Katheer interpretation, only one disciple said "I am", he was the youngest, so Jesus repeated his question again and again, then he said "so, it's you". Others (zero or more) went out the house and joined the disbelievers (they disbelieved), without saying "I am" or after saying "I am" (who forgotten their Covenant, in V5:18 and those who joined disbelievers and beguiled in V3:54), others caught by disbelievers, those who denied being a disciple of Jesus or even denied knowing Jesus (like Peter, maybe they were sincere, they did that so they won't be forced to identify Jesus [PBUH]) The help which was asked was a great sacrifice, which is mentioned in bibles like Matthew 20:20-24, Luke 22:39-46 (note that some copied omit 43 and 44), Mark 10:35-40, Mark 14:32-42 (although Mark has no way to know the supplication he mentioned in 36), it's "to taste the chalice he was supposed to taste" ("Taste from The Grail", which is a figure of speech, a Semitic proverb that is still used in that region till to day in case of death, affliction, or disastrous events. A similar analogy about "taste" is used in Quran in many verses like V6:65, V3:185, V21:35 and V29:57, I suggest you to hear V29:57 recited) when the disbelievers tried to enter the house, one was missing as Jesus disappeared (he was raised alive to heaven here or just few hours later), disbelievers get confused as one (or more) of Jesus disciples went out having the look of Jesus saying "take me" (or "I am who you want"), all of the disciples there were given the appearance of Jesus [those inside the house and the (zero or more) traitor(s) who beguiled with disbelievers], when this disciples went out, the traitor kissed his forehead as a sign to disbelievers, they came to took him, a struggle might happen between the traitor and the other disciples. They crucified at least one of them (maybe the traitor). Disbelievers and disciples, all sank in doubts! (they knew the number of those who were in the house, the number of those who joined them, so they did the math and one was missing, "If they took Jesus, where is the young disciple ?!, if not where is Jesus?!"), they were uncertain about any thing, even sincere disciples doubted [about what happened, not about who is God and who is human! of course] (as they all were all alike they did not know which one did disbelievers crucify). Anyway, if it's the traitor then he deserved that and if it's a sincere disciple then he was a Martyr who deserved Paradise for his deed (as Allah's messenger told him). I'll assume that the cross was a usual x-shaped cross commonly used in Roman executions. And they did not allow relatives or people who are love Jesus to witness that, they prisoned them. Each party started telling a different story, from differences we know that they were guessing and completing the story from their imagination. I can imagine the hypocrisy, a disbeliever here "I spit on his face and calloused him while he was carrying his cross" another "I dragged the cross myself" ...etc. and between believers "I was mocking him he was so gentle, he prayed from me and blessed me". And after they had crucified someone, he was given his previous original appearance back! they know that this one was not Jesus "Oops! none of those crucified people in the field is Jesus!" please note that there were many crucified people in Roman reign, the bibles mention that there where a crucified man to the right and another one to the left of the crucified man they supposed to be Jesus (Mark 15:27-32, Luke 23:39-43). I assume (from my own, not from interpretations) that disbelievers might get another one (among those who have the look of Jesus) and crucified him next night, but this time they did more precautions, they might put a banner having a title on each cross, and the cross was changed to a + or T-shaped cross to hold the banner and this time they brought those who love prophet Jesus to witness. The name Jesus was very common then, for example, in the claimed trial of Jesus in Matthew 27:16,17, it's mentioned that the first name of the released criminal was also Jesus (yet recent copied omit his first name, refer to an ancient copy please). Please note, the number of disciples/apostles is not certainly 12, despite that Christians confirm that they are 12, because they don't list same names, which mean they were coined into 12, for example لباوس الملقب تداوس Labbaous (or Libuse, I'm not sure how they write it in Latin languages) who is known as Thaddeus (Matthew 10:2-4 and Mark mention him) while its another Jude (other than Judas Iscariot the assumed traitor, Luke 6:13-16, and John 14:22), Christians just assume that Thaddeus and the other Jude are the same, this is just a conjecture, as the first name of Thaddeus have nothing to do with Jude. The name of the missing sincere young disciples (who was assumed to be crucified instead of Jesus) was سرجس Sergio (according to some priests who have accepted Islam, and narrate the story to At-Tabari and to Ibn Katheer, I'm not sure if this is the way to write the name in Latin languages, maybe there is with "-aous" suffix) so I can assume that there were someone missing beside the missing traitor, so disbelievers coined the number 12 to cover it up but they failed because they list different names. Roughly speaking Luke 66:22-69 mentioned that they asked the crucified man "Tell us, are you Jesus ?" he replied "You won't believe me, Jesus was raised to Allah" (that firmly! with with all courage) So Luke was talking about Sergio, while the crucified one mentioned in Matthew 46:27 appears to be a despaired disbeliever. While Jesus[PBUH] was promised that he would be saved according John 29:8, and Jesus would be in a place they can't reach (John 33:13). I'm not saying that the disciples were exactly 13, because some priests claimed that they were at least 17 disciples, others claimed they were 19! Don't think that they would leave the disciples alone, It's very rational that they crucified some other disciples too, From Roman point of view, they were able to caught some rebels with their leader, would they just execute the leader ?

  • Q141: What about the resurrection of Jesus after three days of crucifixion ?
A: The claimed resurrection of Jesus which was supposed to happen after 3 days of the claimed crucifixion, in a manner similar to that of Daniel (Book of Daniel 6:13-24). We can assume that what happened to Daniel was a real miracle, even his enemy (that king, those who complained to him, disbelievers, ..etc) witnessed Danial getting in then coming out alive from the sealed lions' cave! But in the claimed resurrection of Jesus [PBUH] no one witnessed Jesus on that tomb dead and no one witnessed Jesus coming out alive at least among his enemy. (bibles mentioned that some relatives or people who loves Jesus went there and saw an empty tomb, but all have completely contradicting stories, which mean we can't accept them) so if it's a miracle given to Jesus it would be witnessed by the public, like previous so many miracles of Jesus, or at least like that of Danial, the Romans or disbelievers should have witnessed Jesus alive! (because if he was crucified then resurrected then they can't harm him again as according to the bible, one can't die twice, there is no death after resurrection)

Other Christian consider not like Daniel but like Jonah يونس as mentioned in the Bible that sons of Israel were very demanding they kept asking for miracles and despite the so great miracles many sill have doubts about Jesus, he told them (yet according to the Bible) that they are an evil generation no more miracles will be given except that of Jonah, and here Christian comments that Jesus will crucified and buried in the ground then resurrected and that would take three days and three nights just like Jonah who was in the Whale for three days and three nights. But the problem with this understanding that Jonah was alive! and Jonah was not resurrected. And even if it's about the numbers, the bibles don't day three days and nights it say three days and three nights but the most common story of Crucifixion among Christians merely takes a day and two nights according to bibles!! For details watch the lecture entitled "What makes good Friday good ?" by Ahmad Deedat.

Bibles mention many contradicting stories about the appearance of Jesus after the claimed resurrection (Mark 16:9-14, Matthew 28:9-17, Luke 24:13-43, and John 20:13-26, 21:1-14, although all verses of Mark after 16:9 are proofed to be added after 180AD, they are not written by any Saint Mark). The only common factor about those stories, that Jesus's relatives and beloved students did not recognize him! (according to John, Mary Magdalene [a patient healed from mind-sickness as a miracle of Jesus] thought him to be a gardener). So to take it good, when bibles differ, their authors were describing different cases. The other possibility, that they were deceived by fake appearance, or it have been forged and named after them. And the last possibility is that they were lying.

  • Q142: Was it Jude or Sergio or both ? Why you are tracing Gospels and analyzing ? Why don't Quran or Sunnah just tell us who was crucified ?
A: Quranic language is Arabic, the Eloquent, the articulate yet the pithy language. Quran is intended for guidance, to light your way, not to drag you into that way. You are responsible to act, to walk in that way. Quran is not meant to address boring details. For example, the name of prophet Muhammad was mentioned literary only 4 times in Quran! Many verses about great companions of prophet Muhammad unambiguously identify them without mentioning their names. We know certain facts that are sufficient for us. Our Messenger (Muhammad) has come to clarify to you much of what you have hidden of the Book, and to forgive much. A light has come to you from Allah and a Clear Book, } (V5:15) A different example, when prophet Muhammad [PBUH] said (in the sound Hadith having an entire chapter in Sahih Muslim) "For every disease there is a corresponding cure, if the cure hits [catches/matches] the [cause of] disease, one would be healed by the will of Allah" (it exists, no matter who know it and who don't. Our job is to keep tying to find them all) it's irrational to ask him to list them all.
  • Q143: What happened then ? Where did the trinity beliefs come from ?
A: The disciples of prophet Jesus [PBUH] maintained monotheism (ie. To believe that there is only one true god, that is Allah, the Creator. And to believe that Jesus was sent from Allah), they maintained his teachings which were a continuation of Moses teachings. Those disciples were so gentle, tender, ..etc. and they were not proud. { لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقْرَبَهُمْ مَوَدَّةً لِلَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَى ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنْهُمْ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهْبَاناً وَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ * وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ تَرَى أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ مِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الْحَقِّ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آَمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ } meaning { Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Al-Mushrikun (ie. idolaters, polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, pagans.) and you will find the nearest in love the the believers (Muslims) those who say "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not proud. * And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad). you see their eyes overflowing with tears, because of the truth they have recognized. They say: "Our Lord! we believe; so write us down among the witnesses." } (V5:82-83) On the other hand there were some opportunistic idolaters, who form a sort of hypocrisy to take advantage of name of Jesus and his sincere disciples, (refer to Matthew 7:21-23, Luke 1:1-4) for worldly gains, they are distinguished by their proud attitude (Second Epistle to the Corinthians 11:12-17) their attitude toward treasuring gold, and racism taking other as slaves, they developed the Semitic-based racism (Genesis 9:18-27) to color-based racism (Epistle to the Galatians 4:30-31), and they emphasized on what Jews had already injected into the so called "old testimony" like the indecent desires (Song of Solomon 3:1-5, 4:1-7, 7:1-11), shallow materialism (seeing God, yelling in his face, wrestling him, defeating him ..etc. like Genesis 32:24-30, Books of Kings 17:20), encourage sins in the name God! (Exodus 12:35-36), insulting God's prophets (Genesis 12:14-20 and 19:30-36). { وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آَبَاءَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ } meaning { When they commit an indecency, they say: 'This is what we found our fathers practicing, and with it Allah has ordered us. ' Say: 'Allah does not order indecency. Would you tell of Allah what you do not know? ' } (V7:28) Such monks claimed having the authority to bless or forgive people by themselves, they claimed to be intercessors, ..etc. Such are their assertions, by which they imitate those who disbelieved before. Allah fights them! How perverted are they! * They take their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah, and the Messiah, son of Mary, though they were ordered to worship but one God, there is no god except He. Exalted is He above that they associate with Him! * They desire to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah seeks only to perfect His Light, though the unbelievers hate it. * It is He who has sent forth His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to uplift it above every religion, no matter how much the idolaters hate it. * Believers, many are the rabbis and monks who in falsehood defraud people of their possessions and bar people from the Path of Allah. Give glad tidings of a painful punishment to those who treasure gold and silver and do not spend it in the Way of Allah. } (V9:30-34) those kind of monks gradually developed their own version of Christianity over time, to suit their desires and to get in as much people as they could (without telling them to be real believers or practice good deeds) they claimed several contradicting beliefs, and before the 4th AD century, all Christians believed in the oneness of Allah. The concept of trinity started to appear in First Council of Nicaea (325 AD), yet it was not completely "Trinity" as it was about two gods (God and his claimed son; Jesus) and the result of this council had nothing to do with the original teachings of Jesus (refer to the American Encyclopedia Volume 27 pages 294-301). A pagan roman dictator called Constantine who need a way to join the Christians in the east and the pagans in the west so he called for such council. He gather about 2048 Episcopalians, 1731 out of them were following Arianism (to believe that Jesus was a prophet, a messenger of Allah, not a god nor an incarnation of God) while 317 others were following Athanasianism (to believe that Christ the Son is of the same substance as God the Father according to the so called "Saint Athanasius the Great!" how proud!, who is a follower of Paul), that could be traced to Greek mythologies or Alexandrian mythologies (there were many mythologies about Incarnation like Osiris, Isis, Hercules, ..etc.). Who do you think Constantine (who was still a pagan, a sun worshiper and who believe in the incarnation) will follow ? Constantine dispossessed monotheists and followed the polytheists, and he issued a decree that prohibit disclosing the Gospel (which disclosed later in 1516 AD!) and people should only follow what they were told through this and that GREAT PROUD POPE! What do you think they were doing to bibles all those years! Yet after such councils trinity was not yet claimed completely! It was very common then that the holy spirit is not a god ..etc. so the First Council of Constantinople was assembled in 381 AD of only 150 Episcopalians, to set the last part of the pagan Neoplatonismo philosophies and mythologies (Mind-Logos-Spirit) on the name of Christianity. Another later council were assembled of 200 bishops called the Council of Ephesus (in about 431 AD) to punish Nestorius (Christian bishop and Patriarch of Constantinople) because he was teaching what they call heresies (that Jesus is a human not a god and Mary is a human not a god), the council decided that Mary (peace be upon her) is worthy worshiping! and another council and another ..etc. (there where 7 councils)

A researcher called Robertson wrote a paper called "Pagan and Christ" in which he was able to trace pagan beliefs in recent Christianity (followers of Paul). For example, the Myth of Mithra (Persian religion appeared in 600 BC and reached Rome in 70 AD) which is about an incarnation of god, who was born in the 25th of December, who had 12 apostles, he was called the savior and he was sacrificed for mankind sins,...etc.

  • Q144: Who is Paul ?
A: Paul was an disbeliever Israeli (belongs to sons of Israel, Jewish as a race not as a religion). He was a sadistic violent criminal, who used to torture believers for joy (Acts of the Apostles 3:8, 7:58-60, 8:1-3). Christians knows this fact, yet they claim that Paul have repented and believed, which is possible, there were many such cases in history, but Paul was not one of them. Note that Paul is not one of the disciples/Apostles, he had never met prophet Jesus (at least on reality, yet he claimed ..., I don't care what he claimed, no one support his claims). Acts of the Apostles 9:1-7 contradicts 22:6-9 (people heard but did not see or saw but did not hear, as a result I consider that people did not hear nor saw what Paul claimed!). Paul had started spreading his own religion at least three years before meeting any of the disciples! and after that he claimed that he had met some disciples (Peter and Jacob) for only 15 days (days not years), NOT to learn from them nor to follow them but indeed to oppose them, and he stated in his own words that he was opposing them he was combating with them (specially Peter, the chief of the disciples according to bibles) and he claimed that he was given a completely different unique Gospel he called it the prepuce Gospel (maybe a symbol for indecency, how rude he was!) that oppose that other respectable disciples (maybe like Peter) were teaching. I'm not analyzing, this is in Paul own words! Just read Paul's Epistle to the Galatians (for example 2:1-8 and 2:11). Paul was combating with the disciples, even Barnabas (the first disciple of prophet Jesus) who introduced him to the rest disciples (as they suspected Paul and rejected him directly, to give him an opportunity, Acts of the Apostles 26:9) Barnabas left him (Acts of the Apostles 15:39). Paul was willing to do anything to bring people to his religion, including lying! to Jews he is a Jew, to weak he is a weak, ..., to Pagans he is a pagan (Paul's Epistle to the Corinthians 9:19-23) He sometimes admitted that he doubts and just giving conjectures and opinions (Acro. 7:25, 7:40 and 7:6) His idea was simple, one is not obliged to do any thing good, just to believe in the Crucifixion of God's son! which will saves oneself. He canceled the Convents they should keep (Genesis 17:9-14) Paul (who was a criminal) invented a concept to get rid of guilt, just to believe in Crucifixion, he wanted people to believe that their sins were ransomed with the sacrifice of Jesus, Paul cursed Jesus in his own words! (Paul's Epistle to the Galatians 3-13). But Paul was not convinced with his idea as guilt kept hunting him down, he knew that he is not saved, he was a sinner, he claimed that he is sincere but he claimed that it's an evil spirit inside him! and again I'm not analyzing it's Paul owns word (Paul's Epistle to the Romans 7:14-24). Those feelings of Paul are attributed to all sinners, { وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنْكاً وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى * قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِي أَعْمَى وَقَدْ كُنْتُ بَصِيراً * قَالَ كَذَلِكَ أَتَتْكَ آَيَاتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا وَكَذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ تُنْسَى * وَكَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِآَيَاتِ رَبِّهِ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآَخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَى } meaning { but whosoever turns away from My remembrance, his life shall be narrow and on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him blind. * 'My Lord, ' he will say: 'why have You raised me blind when I was able to see? ' * He (Allah) will say: 'It is so, Our verses came to you and you forgot them. So this Day you are forgotten [left to burn in hellfire forever]. ' * In this way We recompense the prodigal who disbelieves the verses of his Lord. But the punishment of the Everlasting Life is more terrible and everlasting. } (V20:124-127) and about the evil spirit inside him, which is also an excuse he made to escape responsibility. When Ibn-Abbas (a companion of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] who was the best one to interpret Quran ترجمان القرآن) and Ibn Omar were told about someone who did like Paul, I mean to claim being a messenger of God, and to claim that he receive revelations from the spirit, one commented by reciting the two verses { هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ تَنَزَّلُ الشَّيَاطِينُ * تَنَزَّلُ عَلَى كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ } meaning { Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? * They descend on every guilty impostor. } (V26:221-222) the other replied by reciting the following segment of verse {... ... The satans will reveal to their guided ones to argue with you. If you obey them, you shall indeed become idolaters. } (V6:121) Yet of course, this is not an excuse, because { وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدْتُكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا أَنْ دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلَا تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مَا أَنَا بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُصْرِخِيَّ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَا أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ } meaning { And when the issue has been decided, Satan will say (to them): 'The promise which Allah made you was true. I promised you, but failed to keep it. I had no authority over you except that I called you, and you answered me. Do not blame me, rather, blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I disbelieved in your associating me (with Allah) before. ' Indeed, for the evildoers there is a painful punishment. } (V14:22)
  • Q145: But the books written by Peter students who is supposed to oppose Paul does not seem to oppose "trinity" ?
A: We already announce that they are inauthentic. (those attributed to Paul or those attributed to Peter) as the most ancient copy available is aged to be after trinity councils, and they all were under a sort of central control. This fact is sufficient to know that they are inauthentic (Galatians 2:11). For example, Peter was over praised (in a supernatural pagan way) in Matthew 16:18-19, then in the same page called a devil (Matthew 16:21-23), so I can't rely on what they ascribe to the disciples of prophet Jesus (called "apostles"). Anyway, why do you think Bibles were closed between (325-1516 AD), and why do you think the so called original copies were not written in the native language of people who lived in Jerusalem, Bethlehem nor Nazareth or any close Semitic language (Aramaic, Syriac, Hebrew, Arabic, ...etc.), or do you think that Jesus [PBUH] was teaching them in Greek or Latin languages! And why all resources in those native languages are lost and being re-translated recently ? Why ? Why ?

But please note that we (Muslims) don't praise nor vilify Peter or any other disciples of prophet Jesus, as we don't have sufficient knowledge (there is no authentic information about them), but we take it good and we like to assume that they were sincere and good people as we prefer this on believing what is ascribed to them. We don't even try to judge them. We believe that we don't have authority to judge people. We are not responsible for their deeds. Each person is only responsible for his own deeds.

  • Q146: I noticed that you use the word "disciple" instead of "apostle", why is that ?
A: According to Word-Net disciple means "someone who believes and helps to spread the doctrine of another". The Semitic word which was used originally to refer to them is "Hawari" which have several meanings (Al-Qurtobi interpretation, and the rest classic interpretations); "helper" (which is the most close meaning), "white and clean" ("those who wear white clothes or those who work in a Wash-houses" which is a materialistic meaning, yet some priests had narrated roots related to this aspect of the word). While on the other hand the word "Apostle" (according some missionary priests who did not accept Islam) is taken from Greek word "apostolos" (which is derived from the verb "apostellein") which mean messenger ie. So accordign to recent Christians; Apostle mean the messengers of a god called Jesus (to focus on Paul beliefs) which is not our belief.
  • Q147: Can you trace the language pollution made to impose trinity or to hide signs related to Islam and prophet Muhammad ?
A: Many scholars did so. At that time, when the books were not yet closed, they needed to poison the language, to take statement out of context, to tweak meanings, to stretch the gray shades, to blur the barrier between true and false. This is the nature of language, any language, Believe it or not, the word "my uncle" in the so called "middle east" is used informally nowadays by servants to mean "my master" or "my lord" and it used by little kids to mean "salesman" or just any stranger! But there is no barrier between the informal usage and the formal language, by time and persistent usage language get polluted. Take the announcement of the First Council of Nicaea (the article of faith) for example, many Christian researchers were able to identify where did every phrase in it came from. (For example, the second half of the fifth sentence is taken from the so called "old testimony" Book of Micah 5:2). Just consider the context of each and compare them, and you may be able to see what they were trying to do.

The word الآب ("ɑ:b" with long vowel, translated as Father-God which is close to the word أب "'ɑb" with sort vowel which means father) means merciful in ancient Semitic languages (but not Arabic), for example, the meaning of Abraham (which is not an Arabic word) is "tenderhearted father" (no one ever claimed that Abraham or A:b-Raham with long vowel, means the merciful Father-God!). Jews [the native Hebrew speakers] are still using the "ɑ:b" word to refer to Allah, yet Jews understand it as figure of speech meaning "The God that loves us [ie. loves Jews]" not a real father or a Father-God.

The words son and boy mean servant, attendant, slave or worshiper! For example, in the story of Josef, when he was taken as a slave to the Aziz (Governor of Egypt) to serve his wife, they used to call Josef as فتاها (her boy or her son) as a polite word that mean her slave! (refer to V12:30, and in V12:62. but of course there is no ambiguity in Arabic). Let's trace that in the bibles, for example, in the Arabic translation of Matthew 12:15-21 we read "this is my boy" (referring to Jesus), but this verse just a variance to that in Book of Isaiah 42:1-4, the only modification is that "this is my servant (worshiper)". Such mistake is reproducible and persistent, for example, the same is true for the Act of apostles 3:15. (in the English versions you find it written clearly "servant") But translators (to Arabic) gave themselves the right and power to tweak it and change it to "boy" or "son" because they know that Arab Christians would directly turn into Islam if they translate it "عبدي"! So I assume that the translators who had translated bibles from Syriac to Greek did the same, they gave themselves the write to do that. Another approach is by tracing how bibles narrate what a disciple said to Jesus in the same event, we'll find one bible saying "O my teacher", another "O my master", a third "O my lord", and another "O my God",..etc. but of course that single disciple only used one single term at that single incident.

{ وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ مُصَدِّقاً لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَمُبَشِّراً بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالُوا هَذَا سِحْرٌ مُبِينٌ * وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَى إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ } meaning { And when (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary said: 'Children of Israel, I am sent to you by Allah to confirm the Torah that was before me, and to give news of a Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) who will come after me whose name shall be Ahmad. ' Yet when he came to them with clear proofs, they said: 'This is clear sorcery. ' * And who does greater evil than he who forges a lie against Allah, when he is being called to Islam? Allah does not guide the harmdoing people. } (V61:6-7) Many scholar were able to trace the name (or meaning of the name) and the description of Islam, and prophet Muhammad [PBUH] in the so called old and new testimony. For example, in the old testimony (in Hebrew language), Muhammad in mentioned vocally as "Muhammad-em" (meaning Muhammad the great) but it's translated by meaning not as a name. And his place of birth (Mecca) is also mentioned in Deuteronomy 33:1-2 (which mention in order the homelands of Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them all). Mecca is the same place where Abraham [PBUH] had sent his son Ishmael[PBUH] the ancestor of prophet Muhammad[PBUH] (Genesis 21:17-21). Despite the racism claims of Paul and those alike, it's clearly mentioned that prophet Ishmael[PBUH] the elder son of prophet Abraham[PBUH] is very honored (Genesis 17:20), he and his ancestors, and among them will be 12 honored leaders (as prophet Muhammad taught us that there will be 12 orthodox Khalifas, they will gain acceptance of people and spread justice, and the first continuous period of them will be 30 years after the death of prophet Muhammad [the first 4] and that happened exactly as mentioned in Sunnah). And it's mentioned in the old testimony that the prophet will be among their [sons of Israel] relatives (a brother). And a description of the Islamic calling for prayer (the Athan) is also mentioned in the Book of Habakkuk 3:3-4. The prophecy in Psalms 118:22-23 is also attributed to prophet Muhammad, not only as analyzed by some scholars, but as explained by prophet Jesus[PBUH] in Matthew 21:43-44 where he told the sons of Israel that the final prophet won't be among them. And this is not the only place in the so called new testimony, for example, prophet Muhammad is named in the gospel of John 14:16-17, 15:26-27, 16:7-11 and 16:12-14 but rephrased then re-translated then interpreted, then rephrased after the bad interpretation. They tells a prophecy, that will come after raising Jesus[PBUH] to heaven. I said named not just described, because the words used means "Ahmad" (the best one to thankfully praise, praise Allah of course). That Greek word (pronounced something like "Pharacleteus") have different meanings Muhammad or Mahmoud [admirable, best praised], Ahmad and with a diacritic change Ph becomes P to make it mean Comforter, and the Eraser. (yet all are names of prophet Muhammad [PBUH], see "who is Muhammad ?" [Q34]). Paul and his followers interpret it as a reference to the holy spirit, which is irrational as it's already there, then it's not a prophecy about future (open any bible in the verses related to the birth of Jesus, which was before this description). "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things." (according to John) But yet according to Paul and his followers, It refer to them as they [Paul and bible writers..] are supported by the holy spirit! Do you buy it ? (if it's so be informed it's supposed to in another nation Matthew 21:43-44, and it's supposed to last for ever John 14:16-17) One might ask, that the Comforter (consoler or solacer) is not a name of prophet Muhammad[PBUH]. No it is. When Arab idolaters decreed a Siege and start Boycotting Muslims (they didn't even sell them food no matter how high price they pay) some non-Muslims from Banu Hashim tripe preferred to be with Muslims because of favors Muhammad had done before to orphans and widows. Among them was Abu Talib (a disbeliever who died so) who told us why in a long poem, here is a small portion of it, and in which he called Muhammad the Comforter

You lied, I swear we won't surrender Muhammad to you,
before we fight and struggle to death
We won't give him till we all are killed around him,
and all our kids and wives are also killed.
No nation never left such master,
a protector, not lazy in help.
He is the white man whom clouds rains for his face,
as He is the Comforter of orphans and the refuge for widows
The starving people from Hashim take refuge with him,
    	they are in his favors.

there are many trivially non-Islamic beliefs and concepts in this long poem, that reflect the character of its author, but the point here is to see how people used to refer to Muhammad. Go back and try to recover what is mentioned in John (keep in you mind "Father" means "the Merciful one God", son means "sincere Worshiper", ..etc.) And notice that all things that are supposed to be taught by the Comforter are mentioned in Quran. And in the gospel of Luke 2:14, This is supposed to be a rejoice song after the birth of Jesus, a prophecy that will happen. "Glory to God in the highest." and what and what ? Where is that peace on earth and many major wars happened after that, and where is that pleasing among people and they are more and more complaining day after day. According to Abdullahad Dawood (Benjamen Chaldee, the Archbishop of Catholic Chaldea Church [in Iraq] who had accepted Islam) who traced this verse and found it neither talk about peace ("Shaam" in Aramaic or "Shalom" in Hebrew) nor about pleasing. The original Syriac words (a dialect of Aramaic) is about Islam and Ahmad, it means "Glory to God in the highest. Islam will be on Earth, Ahmad will be among people". (because the birth of Jesus should happen before the birth of Ahmad according to the prophecy of Moses).
  • Q148: You claim that when asking priests for forgiveness or to intercede is a sort of polytheism, but you Muslims believe that prophets have such right. This is not justice, is that correct ?
A: No, not in the polytheist way you are projecting into Islam. { وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ * وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَلَداً سُبْحَانَهُ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ * لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِأَمْرِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ * يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَى وَهُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ مُشْفِقُونَ * وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ * أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقاً فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ } meaning { We [Allah] never sent a Messenger before you except that We revealed to him saying: 'There is no god except Me [Allah], therefore, worship Me. ' * They say 'The Merciful has taken a son. ' Exaltations to Him! No, they are only His honored worshipers, * who do not surpass Him in speech, and do as He commands. * He knows what is before them and what is behind them. They intercede for none except for him whom He is well pleased, and they tremble in awe of Him. * If any one of them says: 'I am a god other than Him, ' We will recompense him with Gehenna (Hell). As such We recompense the harmdoers. * Have the unbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were sewn up as one (solid) mass, then We unstitched them, and that We made every living thing of water? Will they not believe! } (V21:25-30) Did you get it ? We are not supposed to ask forgiveness from anyone but Allah. No one is allowed to claim having the right of interceding. In the day of Judgment, Allah due to his mercy and absolute justice, grant interceding permission to whoever he will, for those who deserve it, and to those who deserve it. Prophets and good doers do NOT intercede before they are granted explicit prior permission from Allah. They do NOT even dare to ask the permission to do that.
  • Q149: What happened to Jesus after he was raised ? isn't he supposed to die as any human ?
A: I am aware the Christians believe in what they call "Christ's second coming" but I don't know details about such beliefs. So I'm just going to tell you the Islamic beliefs without any comparison nor citations from bibles.

In the last eras (of worldly life on Earth), Prophet Jesus[PBUH] will be sent back to earth, not as a prophet nor as a messenger, but as a Muslim, he will practice Salat (following a Muslim Imam), and Jesus[PBUH] will be the leader of Muslims against the Impostor Christ (or "Antichrist", a man having an injured eye, claiming to be the God, and showing many falsified supernatural signs). After defeating the Antichrist, Jesus[PBUH] will live for a few years then die normally as any other human.

  • Q150: Are you trying to tell me that you know my religion more than myself and my priest ?
A: Not me actually, I'm just a man with a computer who read a lot and search a lot! I gave cross references, you may get back to your reliable sources and check, read the whole context, analyze where is the text body, what is a comment by the author, what is a guess, what is an interpolation, ..etc. trying to have a contestant piece of truth.

There are many other people who do, Admad Deedat once said "I have never met a Christian who knows about the Bible more than me" (he was about 80 years old and his entire life was dedicated in meeting Christians, specially priests and missionaries!). Also Dr. Zakir Naik is another expert in this field, both knows about the bible more than me and you, I was shocked by how they just tell you the verse then it's cross reference and when any one gives them any portion or meaning of a verse from any bible they were able to give them the verse and the cross reference from the top of their head just like that. • Q151: What ? Why ? How ? Do you think I buy it, Do you expect me to oppose the creed of my father ?
To warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings to the believers who do good deeds that theirs shall be a goodly wage * and they will live for ever therein. * And it (the Quran) warns those who say: 'Allah has taken a son. ' * . Surely, of this they have no knowledge, neither they nor their fathers; it is a monstrous word that comes from their mouths, they say nothing but a lie. * Yet perchance, if they do not believe in this tiding, you will consume yourself with grief and follow after them. * We have appointed all that is on the earth an adornment for it, in order that We try which of them is finest in works. * We will surely reduce all that is on it to barren dust. } (V18:1-8) { لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ ُ مَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنْصَارٍ } meaning { Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is Jesus, son of Mary." But Jesus said: "O children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers. } (V5:72) { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ * اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ * لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ * وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ } meaning { Say: 'He is Allah, the One [and unique and not composite], * the called upon. * Who has not given birth, and has not been born, * and there is none equal to Him. Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians [a past nation used to live in Musal (Iraq) and used to read Az-Zabur (the Psalms of Sabians)] whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous good deeds shall have their reward wth their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. * Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. Those to whom the Book was given disagreed among themselves only after knowledge had been given to them being insolent among themselves. He who disbelieves the verses of Allah indeed Allah is Swift in reckoning. (Arabic letters; Alif-Laam-Ra) We have sent down to you (this Book) in order that you bring mankind from darkness to the light by the permission of your Lord, to the Path of the Almighty, the Praised. * Allah to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. Woe to the unbelievers for a terrible punishment. } (V14:1-2)
